I swear I’ve spent about 3 years looking for a hair salon in Pittsburgh—friendly, non fussy but professional, someone to cut Asian hair because it is different in texture. This place is perfect. The staff is naturally diverse, they know what they’re doing. The place is clean, cute with lots of natural light, drinks, and they wash your hair! It’s a wonderful head massage. Flo is great, provides just the right amount of conversation without overdoing it. It’s everything that a salon should be and pricing is reasonable.

Very pleasant experience, beautiful salon, professional yet friendly atmosphere. Deandre was my stylist, he took the time to understand my needs, gave me good advice about color and trimmed my hair beautifully.

I absolutely loved going here. I was looking for a place to get my hair done in Pittsburgh and many friends recommended this place out after getting their hair done at White House Salon. Myra did my hair and she did a balayage on it. She primarily works with curly hair. The first time I went in she did a partial balayage and it looks so pretty. It had a lot of depth to it which is hard to do well. It looked beautiful but was a bit off from what I wanted since I wanted something that looked more natural and wanted a full balayage. After calling back she offered to fix it for free so that it would be more of what I wanted and so that I would be happy with it. And now I absolutely love it. She did an amazing job. Not only does she have years of experience but she shows it wonderfully throw her work. Myra is absolutely a wonderful hairstylist. Not only that but I also loved chatting with her. It is not easy having deep meaningful conversations with people but with her it was so easy to do so. She was also super sympathetic and just a wonderful person overall. Also, I have never had someone be able to explain the process and the reasonings behind what they are doing so well so that I can take care and treat my hair better at home. She was a wonderful teacher as well. Myra was overall and all around an amazing hair stylist and person. Update: a year later and my hair was so damaged that all the bleached parts broke off… I took care of my hair how I was told to do and by January (got my hair done in may), my hair was so much shorter and thinner at the bottom….

I've been coming to Whitehouse for 10+ years now, and I can't recommend them enough. The staff is incredibly friendly and professional, and they always make me feel welcome. Flo and Tanya do an incredible job with my hair—whether it's a cut, color, or styling, I always leave feeling like my best self! The salon is clean, modern, and has a relaxing atmosphere. They truly listen to what you want and go above and beyond to deliver it. If you're looking for a salon that genuinely cares about their clients, this is the place to go! Truly the best salon in Pittsburgh

got a hair cut with selina, and it was so amazing i wouldn't recommend her enough it was exactly what i was looking for it was my first haircut since moving to Pittsburgh and it was amazing she did exactly what i asked for and was looking for if highly recommend her or this salon great experience!!!

Can’t say enough positive things about my experience at White House salon! My stylist Layla was fabulous. The cut was just what I wanted and she may have given me the best blow out I’ve ever gotten. I will be going back to see Layla at White House salon for all of my hair appointments!

Tanya is amazing! She is so talented!!!! I get highlights and cut. And my hair has never looked so good. I have tried several salons over the years her work is by far #1.I highly recommend Tanya and the salon. Everyone is always seeing if I need anything etc! If you want the best forget the rest and go here!!!!! If I could give more stars I would!

Whitehouse Salon is a staple to go to on Walnut Street. Located right on top of Mercurios. You walk into beautiful clean white decor and complimentary coffee, tea and wine. One thing I love about this place is the DIVERSITY! I know I’ve walked into salons before in shadyside that do not cater to curly hair but this salon does(and I mean 4a-4c hair types). I would 100% recommend <3

Matt is a magician! My hair was so dull and dead and he turned back into life. He takes the time to listen and know exactly what I wanted. I have thick hair and it isn’t easy to cut it but this hair cut is what I wanted exactly. Since my hair is originally very curly, he took the effort to cut some of it while wet and some of wet while dry to control the length. I loved my experience and would definitely come again. Thanks a million Matt!

DeAndre Stevenson, is “the hair guru.” Before I met him, my hair would shed profusely, so much so that I was terrified to brush it. By the second appointment, the shedding stopped, and my hair started to flourish. I can only attribute that to his knowledge of the following: products, techniques, and the science behind hair itself. While DeAndre knows what to do ti the hair, he knows how to treat and pamper the client. He doesn’t treat you like a product on the assembly line. To that end, I enjoy each visit because each one consists of a consultation that is specific to the service for that day. At that time, he addresses concerns or issues. I was always apprehensive about getting color, but he assured me it would work out. I started out with highlights and graduated to blonde. The color he chose worked well with my complexion, without any hair loss. If you give DeAndre a try, you won’t be disappointed. He is not scissor happy!

I LOVE this place. This is my second time getting a balayage here and both times were amazing & exactly what I was looking for. I was going for something subtle and they nailed it. My stylist Layla was INCREDIBLE. As someone who doesn't get my hair done often, Layla walked me through every step and did an amazing job, while also b. The vibe and environment is incredible, everyone is so nice and welcoming. Full balayage at $190 - an extremely reasonable price for an incredible job and the best time. I'm moving out of Pittsburgh soon but honestly will be making trips back to get my hair done here.

Originally had a bad blonde balayage done where my hair got damaged but they offered to bring me back in to completely fix my hair. They also gave me a take home hair treatment free of charge. Love my hair now and Angelo really cared about fixing it.

Layla gave me a great trim and styled my hair beautifully! She cut my bangs and curled my hair… I walked out feeling gorgeous. She was so kind and gave me exactly what I wanted. Will be going back soon!

Selina is amazing! She takes into account what you are asking for and tailors it to your specific hair type and face shape to make sure you have the best cut possible. She is very detail-oriented and makes sure to check in throughout the cut to make sure you get what you are asking for. She kills it every time.
