You know that sinking feeling when you try a new stylist and immediately regret it? That’s exactly what happened to me. I booked with this salon because they’re local and had decent reviews, but I wish I had trusted my gut. First off, they clearly don’t know how to properly dye thick hair. I was in the chair for six hours maybe more honestly with no real warning about how long the process would take—just vague reassurances of “we’ll be done soon.” Eventually, I had to leave because it was dragging on endlessly, I mean I’m telling you if I remember correctly 12pm was mt appt and I had dinner @7pm and barely made it on time…. Every time I’ve been to a reputable salon for blonde treatments, they’ve had an assistant helping when they see my hair type- helping with the dying and the washing- it was just 1 guy doing it all…. So yeah, That wasn’t the case here. The stylist (whose name I honestly forgot—bless his heart, I don’t think he meant harm) just didn’t have the support needed to complete the service in a reasonable time. I overheard another employee even mentioning something about it, which only confirmed my suspicions. I left the appointment feeling desperate to GTFO. I didn’t even care at that point as long as I gtfo….My hair was still wet, the color wasn’t what I wanted, and I literally cried when I got in the uber. And like most of us in this situation, I still smiled and said, “Love it!” before walking out. The worst part? I ended up with actual chemical burns on my scalp—raised, painful burns that were like bloody? Idk… I had to do multiple hair masks just to repair the damage, and my girlfriend kept telling me, “You need to write a review bc these burns are not ok!” (I do have proof happy to attach here) Yeah so $450 for a botched color, wet hair, and zero customer service and far from feeling sexy…. No thanks. Maybe they’re fine for small services, but they are not equipped for long, complex treatments. Trust your gut—and your wallet. I sure wish I had. Sorry guys it had to be said!

Great color and cuts, and have been going here for over five years. Elizabeth does the most natural blonde color, and Alexsis is my girl for that short bob. Nice selection of products too

I booked an appointment with Rachel and asked for a wolfcut - they understood the assignment! Rachel took great care of me, made me feel comfortable throughout the appointment, and cut my hair expertly. Super impressed by the quality of the cut I received and Rachel's attention to detail. I'll definitely come back for future haircuts!

I had the opportunity to have my hair cut by Rachel at WHITEROOM, and I’m really happy with the results! I went from long hair to a French bob, and I love the way Rachel shaped it. They made me feel comfortable and really listened to what I wanted. I’d definitely recommend Rachel if you're looking to try something new with your hair.

I could not be happier with my experience at Whiteroom Salon. Rachel was incredibly professional and kind. They listened to my hair goals and concerns, and restated them back to me to make sure they understood what I was looking for. Not exaggerating, I got the BEST haircut of my entire life. Rachel breathed confidence back into my hair, and I am so grateful! I will 100% be coming back and booking with Rachel!

I got my haircut with Rachel, and they did a really great job. I went from shoulder length hair to a pixie cut, and I love it. They really took their time and took into consideration what I wanted. They listened to all my input and worked with me. Really a great stylist and I am most definitely coming back for when my hair grows out! Thanks Rachel :)

I have been coming here for a couple years now. Worth the trek from Staten Island for sure. Between my previous stylist Darby (RIP), and now Steven I have received nothing but excellent service, excellent style, and as much excellent conversation as wanted (or sometimes silence is golden and that is excellent also). I came in with no direction, always having a cheap hair cut with no styling whatsoever. While coming here and getting a great job done, I asked questions about DIY styling (products, technique, shortcuts, &c.) and got nothing but quality answers in return. Although they sell product here, and they use the ones they sell on you during the process there is no pressure of any kind to make a purchase at any time. I have never lacked for confidence in almost anything; business, personal, or otherwise. But, I can absolutely admit this place has given me a confidence to style my own and rock it that I never expected to have. It never used to be for me but now that I have it, and it is priceless. Screw 5/5, not enough granularity. Solid 10/10. Will be back Details: Short Barbering, no long hair here. Haircut costs $125, but that is for the full hour which is used in its entirety.

Overall I had a great experience with Daniella. I really like the way my hair turned out (I got a gloss) and she did exactly what I asked for. The reason I gave the salon 4 stars was because I’m not sure what hair product they use, but my hair smells heavily of chemicals and my eyes are irritated since my appointment yesterday. Not sure if it’s from the gloss or the shampoo/conditioner, but I haven’t experienced this when I got a gloss from other salons.

Rachel was so friendly + gave a great cut! I needed a lot of weight taken off, since I have super thick hair, and she gave me an easy breezy beautiful lil French bob. Big slay. Would definitely recommend!

Had the best haircut/convo with Rachel. Got exactly what I wanted and needed and my hair has never felt healthier. The space is really cute and clean. I would definitely recommend bringing inspo pics so that you leave feeling confident and happy with the results but I will definitely be coming back!

Rachel Duze is by far the best hair stylist I’ve ever encountered. My sister and I have both had terrible experiences with haircuts in the past and I can safely say that Rachel completely eliminated all the negative feelings both me and my sister had in regards to getting our hair cut. They treated us both with the upmost care and respect and listened very carefully to what we wanted. They made sure we were always aware of what was going on and gave us both the best cut we have ever had. We are both so so beyond happy with the results. We will definitely be coming back again and again. I cannot recommend Rachel enough.

Had an amazing haircut with Rachel and HIGHLY recommend. It was a full razor cut and done ever so skillfully. Beforehand we went over different options, including looking at pictures, and Rachel asked lots of clarifiying questions about what I wanted. I left very pleased. Go book Rachel!

Came here twice to get a haircut with Steven, and it was absolutely stellar each time. Stevan is gentle, polite, and a master with those scissors. I’ve received many compliments each time after coming here. I like to have my hair cut a little differently each time, and Steven was very attentive to helping me out. He’s a boss do yourself a favor and make an appointment!

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Alexis for years — I followed her here from her last salon. She is extremely talented, patient, and always knows exactly what every cut needs. As a guy, it is sometimes difficult to find stylists or barbers who are both experienced and creative with men’s hair. Alexis gives the most stylish and long-lasting men’s cuts I’ve ever had. I always get numerous compliments on my hair after visiting Alexis and I am continually impressed at how well it grows in, weeks after getting it cut. Recommend Alexis highly. Everyone at the salon is extremely friendly and attentive as well!

Recently got my hair cut by Rachel and she did an amazing job! I felt like she really took notice of the inspo pics that I brought in, and brought the vision to life so that it fit my face and hair texture. I’ve been getting so many compliments on the cut! Would definitely recommend 😊

This place used to be good. However, the people who work here now seem to lack empathy for what you want—the worst blow-dry ever. Plus, the brushes looked dirty. I used to come here for the last six years, but never again.

Got an awesome haircut at Whiteroom with Rachel! I have frizzy curly long hair and Rachel knew just how to cut, detangle, dry and style it. She breathed new life into my curls and helped me better understand the qualities of my hair. She was super attentive and meticulous - and the hair washing was a lovely massage! The salon itself is fresh and friendly as well.
