I had a very mediocre mani pedi. I might go to another nail salon to get it cleaned up. He also charged me $10 extra for scrubbing a foot callus. I've never been charged extra for that before, it's included in a typical pedicure. It seemed like he just wanted an excuse to charge me an extra $10. I won't be back.

Went to this place for years but yesterday i had a very bad service . When you pay 70 dollars for a full body massage you expect a full body massage but they spent the entire time on just my back . And then when time was up they asked if I wanted another 30 minutes .i guess to get everywhere they missed during that wasted hour . I declined and when I payed the guy at the desk said I should leave a bigger tip and I was furious. Because I probably shouldn’t have left a tip at all after the lousy service. : would have been better off paying half the price at any one of the 8th st massage places but I expected more from this place after having been a long time client. Very disappointed. Total waste of money.

Pleasure of experiencing a massage at Why Not! It was outstanding from start to finish. The price was reasonable and their massuers were attractive enough. Highly recommend it.

Me and my partner just came for a massage and we came out more stress than before! It lookd like the guy give him a massage was trying to charge him extra for oil??? And the massage was almost over?? What kind of place give massages with out oil?? Or charge extra for it?? Very dissapointed and I would NOT recomend this place

I did the body scrub and 1 hr massage combo. My masseuse was a handsome and capable Brazilian. The intake conversation with the receptionist was a bit clunky. More effort should be put into communication such as instructions procedure, what to expect, personal introductions, etc. Not an overly welcoming beginning but I figured it out. Body scrub was great, even if the lighting is too bright. Massage was equally satisfying. I don't remember the final ammount but I remember thinking the overall cost, incl heavy tip , was worth it.

I have been to Why Not at least a dozen times now and I’ve never had a negative experience. The massages are consistently excellent and the prices are very reasonable. I agree with some of the (overly prissy) reviews that the mani-pedi services are not particularly high-end, which is fine. If that’s your priority, then you have about a zillion other places to go in the city. But please don’t trash Why Not. It is a safe space with kind, hard-working staff who really do care about their customers. Always 5 stars.

Listen. We went for spontaneous mani/pedi. They all spoke in Chinese and didn't even acknowledge us other than to direct us to the mani table then the pedi chairs. 1. They didn't buff or smooth our our nails. 2. They refused to polish my toes. I even had my own polish and they still refused. Mind you, there is nail polish on display when you enter. 3. They didn't moisturize our hands or feet after each treatment. We had to ask for lotion. This place was one of the best places for male grooming in the Village. Now its a dump with gross attendants. We're never going back. DON'T BOTHER!!!!!!

My recent visit marked my 4th time at this spa and my last. The massage was great of course. No complaints! However, when I went to pay and was asked if the tip would be in cash or credit card, I said credit card. The guy asked how much, I said $13.00 for a $65.00 massage. That's a 20% tip. He was visibly upset with covert anger. He stated it should be a minimum of $20.00. I was shocked and said I gave 20%. He asked me if I liked the massage because I was given so little. I remained calm, because he started getting hostile and covertly belligerent going back and forth with me over increasing my tip. He became sarcastic and condescending, saying he's educating me on tipping. He then said, $15.00 right. I said $13.00, because now I'm ready to not leave a tip. I ended up leaving a $15.00 tip. This is extremely bad business, but I'm not totally shocked by his attitude. I will not patronize this spa ever again and I will blog, vlog and put the word out to be aware of tip intimidation. Lost a customer and future customers. Zero ratings.
