I started frequenting Willow around April 2024, loved the staff and services, esp cause I could book appointments past 5pm as a young professional getting off work. I went every 6 weeks for a botanical scalp treatment, curly hair trim and blowout. All these experiences were great. Unfortunately I'll be taking my business elsewhere due to the unprofessional desk service staff. When a young lady called the day prior to confirm a 4pm appt, I asked to move it to 5pm and she confirmed my new time for the same services. The next day I got a call from (another?) young lady around 4:15pm asking where I was. When I told her my appt time was updated and confirmed the day prior, she said it couldn't be done because they were closing at 5. When I asked why they updated and confirmed my 5pm time if it was going to be closed, esp since I know the hours are past 5pm (one of the main reasons I frequented here), she said that no stylist was available and asked to reschedule. When I told her I felt frustrated about their inability to keep the appointment i confirmed the day prior, she asked if another day would be better. I told her I would take my business elsewhere since I cannot rely on the front desk staff's ability to correctly schedule and keep appointments. I went to Drybar instead (since theyre open until 7) and got a fantastic scalp treatment and blowout. Again, Great services and hair treatment up to this point, but as someone with a regimented work schedule I can't recommend this salon due to the unprofessional and unreliable front desk staff.

This salon has mostly good reviews — and I anticipate you’ll be pleased with the results of your hair— assuming you get everything you scheduled while also being treated with respect. So why 1 star? I booked an appointment with Chloe because when we were at Willo Salon in Roseville we saw a beautiful biracial woman with the most gorgeous highlighted curls and found out she was the artist behind the hair. I was so excited to book a future appointment for my daughter and for myself (also biracial and it’s so hard to find a good stylist that understands my hair type). Listen— salon treatments are just that — a treat and thus when you go in for an appointment it’s like giving yourself a gift— and in this case I was giving my daughter a gift and a large part of that is the EXPERIENCE. This is where this appointment fell short. Chloe, who may be an introvert and that’s totally fine— came off as snooty. My perception was judgement that I brought a tween in for a balayage—maybe that’s beneath her? But when I’m paying $350+ I expect that you give her the same level of service you would any other client and make her feel special. Not to mention I added on a thermal treatment and the tinsel treatment when I booked 5 months ago only to be told there wasn’t enough “time” and showed up to my daughter getting a quick blow dry of her curly hair and asked to make another appointment later for the other services. To make matters worse, she was basically unapologetic about it as well. She lost a future client (myself) and I definitely won’t bring my daughter back to this location. I’m sure based on Chloe’s apathetic attitude she won’t care, and that is fine, but don't forget that you are in the service industry and part of your job is how you make people feel— maybe somewhere along the way you forgot that up on your high horse. I work hard for my money as an Air Force pilot and I was taken aback at the superior and unwelcoming attitude. Thank you to the front desk gal who had some common sense to at least find another stylist to apply the 10 minute tinsel to my daughter’s hair— it should have been the immediate answer— but that takes a little extra effort and basic problem solving skills. Long story short— my daughters color looks nice, the styling was subpar and we left feeling like crap and that’s so unsatisfactory we will never be back.

They will charge you way more than what has been agreed on the day of consultation. Don’t go to this location and more specifically don’t go to Alissa. Per the consultation with Jenina on July/08/2024, agreed for a butterfly haircut and light highlight for $290 in 1 session. On the appointment day (July/13/2024), the front desk lady Abbi was asking for $405 in total for the work completed. Not only that, Alissa was telling me you need another session to come again as we couldn’t highlight the way you wanted per the picture you showed it to us, and next session would be a separate charge. Eventually we ended up paying them $405 in total but got so much disappointed and upset. I am telling you before they begin, they don’t explain to you additional charges apart from what agreed, and at the end of the work you will be charged the way they wanted.

The ladies were so professional and so helpful. They fit me in last minute. My daughter and I were in the Sac town area for orientation of Sac state. And we both wanted a hair cut. Let me tell you best place for just choosing on the spot. IT was a well maintained salon. The products used were magnificent. Great group of hairstylists. They made us feel wonderful and heard. TOP NOTCH!!!!

I asked the stylist Courtney, for a ash brown color, over my blonde platinum hair and I received an ash dark grey with zero brown. It was so hideous that when she was drying it I almost cried. I held it in until I got to my car. She said she would fix it if I came back, but I no longer trusted her so I went home and bought a ash brown box dye and got the beautiful brown I wanted. Worse experience of my life, I will never go to a salon again.

Hairdresser A is brilliant for cutting curly hair. The salon could use some ambience. It gets loud hence hard to relax. Would go to A again for haircut, with ear plugs next time. :)

Removing former positive review. I find this store to be frustrating. The staff focus on upselling makes me feel like I have to watch my wallet. Under the original ownership I loved it here. Stopped going after 10 years.

Bianca you are truly amazing! I know my cut was simple but you’d be surprised how many stylists butcher just a blunt straight cut. You nailed it! Thank you for helping me soften my bangs that were growing out! What I can’t believe is that you’re a level 1 stylist and management really needs to bump you up . This was my first time visiting Willow and Bianca sealed the deal. I will never go elsewhere because I was listened to. I wasn’t rushed and I got exactly what I asked for. Literally the best haircut I’ve ever received in my life. I’ve been really down lately and you really helped lift my spirits. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much Bianca!

I came to Abby with no hair style. It was down to my waist and it just laid there so it was ready to cut off all the old brown and donate it. I showed Abby what I wanted. She washed my hair, cut and styled it. There were some elements that I wanted refined and she took the feedback well. She is a "level 3 designer" so the hair cut cost $75. I think the hair turned out great. I now have a hair style. The salon is cute and well decorated. They offer online scheduling, which I LOVE. I will definitely come back.

I did my hair keratin here for 450$ they promised me it stay 3 months but after I was my hair it doesn't stay 3 days my hair was like before doesn't change nothing they . My mom and my sister did keratin other shop even after 3 months it is looking great . I went back to the willo Saloms I told them they refuse to fix my hair and I talked with there manager it doesn't help at all she also refuse to fix or redo she they have bad customer service I wasted my money.

I used to get my hair cuts done in Willo salon 6 years ago, they weren’t good at all and that is why stopped going there. Recently they kept sending my texts and asking me to visit their salon again. I scheduled an appointment, at the time I walked in to the salon, I was told no appointment is booked for you!!. It’s so weird and cheap. I can’t imagine it how messy they are. By the time the customer care team and the recipient are so rude and rushed. I don’t recommend it to no body.

It is my first time with willow salons , they are welcoming and nice stuff , My hair styler Miss Chloe she did great and very friendly and professional lady . I love her service and appreciate her for doing my hair belyage . Definitely recommend specially with Chloe that I had with her my hair done.

Like most creative services, your experience probably will depend on the stylist you have. I have been seeing Claire for... 5 years? She is awesome. Highly recommend her. Also Aveda products are the only ones which don't fry my hair (I go from brown to blonde). I've tried several other lines with very sad results. Aveda is among the more expensive products out there but who wants fried hair? And I mean what they use on your hair for dyeing. I don't purchase their take home products (waaaaaaaaaaay too expensive, *O*M*G*). Sorry, was that a little over dramatic? So anyway, I recommend the salon generally, and Claire specifically. :) Update: Claire is gone. Salon still good.

There should be way to pay for services without having one’s credit card information stored! I would probably come to this business if this policy were adjusted. I would happily do a walk-in, pay cash, I’m just not comfortable having my credit card information stored. (A friend’s credit card was hacked and it took her months of paperwork to deal with the fraud nightmare!) The other Aveda Salons I have used in Sacramento (& other cities) do not have this practice. Please reconsider this practice and make your business friendlier by allowing people to pay for services without having their credit card information *stored*. I believe you would have more business and make more money this way. Thank you for reading and considering! ps FYI My concern is not so much with the salon itself but with online security since everything is stored online now.

They won’t call you before your appointment and they will ask you for your credit card info or debit and they will tell you they won’t charge you but they will without letting you know. Unprofessional and they just want money be careful.

Took a good friend of mine here. She's elderly and has a walker. She was nicely accommodated . She had a picture and left there a happy camper. 65$ 💇‍♀️ haircut. You decide if it was worth it . She got a bob.

Woke up and decided I wanted a haircut, so I began my search of Salons who take walk in appointments. I hit the jack pot on my third call. Willo Salons was able to accommodate me and they are located within walking distance from my home ( I didn’t have to walk ) my stylist, Alyssa did a fabulous job and I will be returning. Nothing against my current stylist , she does a fabulous job as well , it’s just I’m not good at planning ahead and making appointments in advance. Willo Salon didn’t disappoint.

Cecily B @cut.it.out.cec is my amazing hair dresser from Willo Salon. Last year she did a full highlight on my hair and did a haircut on me. Multiple people at work came up to me out of the blue and gave me compliments on my hair! This year I returned to her and she updated my hair with a partial highlight and toner. I left feeling so good about myself. I have to say she is the best hair dresser I have found in Sacramento so far! Not only is she so nice and sweet, but she is extremely talented and smart. She takes her time, is very thoughtful about making sure her technique is on point, and is precise at measuring the chemicals to make sure your hair turns out amazing. I especially recommend her services if you are a blonde. You can see in my before and after photos that she knows her colors very well. I have very sensitive skin, and she accommodated me to make sure my scalp would not react to the toner, bleach, or any products that were being put in my hair. Other people I have been to left me with chemical burns on my scalp and brassy tones in my hair...Cecily is the only person I trust to do my hair now!

Cecily did an amazing job with my daughter's hair. My daughter got the partial toner. She gave me a quote and she also offered us tea . Plenty of parking in the lot. Highly recommend!!!

Lisa does a fantastic job of coloring my hair. She is always pleasant, professional and warm, what a joy coming to see her and being pampered by her! She knows how to get the color just right for a perfect and natural look. I highly recommend Willo and Lisa!

My daughter went in to get high lights and came out blonde she was very unhappy. I called to express my disappointment. Was rushed off the phone once they realized it was a complaint. Told me they will talk to a Manger and call me back. (Didnt take my name or number)so I went in and was meet by a rude girl at front desk very unprofessional and not helpful. Have yet to hear back and have a very upset daughter. This place should feel ashamed. Over priced and undertalented

Waited quite some time to write this review because of how frustrated I was. Shae gave me an uneven cut and cut off more than I asked. She proceeded to say oh well, it was needed and it will grow out. (Mind you I have thicker Indian hair that was not colored or heavily damaged.) Left random long pieces throughout my hair . I had to wait for it to grow out and and went elsewhere to get it fixed. Quite disappointing , considering the previous time I was there a different stylist did a much better job. Will not be going back because of the terrible haircut I was left with.
