I have never had such a thoughtful, thorough haircut before and I am SO happy with the outcome! I came home and my partner commented that it was the best haircut I've ever had, and I have to agree. I really appreciated how much time and effort he spent on making sure that the cut was suited to my hair and curl/wave pattern – I will absolutely be going back!

Nothing but good things to say about the work of this salon. I appreciate how thoughtful and attentive to detail the owner is when cutting my hair. I have very straight, fine hair and the cuts give my hair texture and even some volume. I'm very happy with how my hair looks!

WORST HAIR SALON IVE EVER BEEN TO. THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME 70 dollars FOR A CONDITIONER TREATMENT AND NOT EVEN A BLOW OUT. They told me it was 20 dollars to get my hair washed. THEYRE MAJOR SCAMMERS DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! The price on line said 35 THIS PLACE SUCKS!

This place is great and very reasonably priced! I didn’t know exactly what I wanted going in, but they did an awesome job creating a really cool layered look. They clearly care a lot about the end result - highly recommend!

A few months ago i went to a different salon and got a bad haircut. My friend recommended Wind to me. Thank God! Stylist Kiji was able to fix my haircut and now it looks amazing. Im sooo grateful and happy of my new look. If you ever need a haircut fixing, Wind is your place!!! This was totally worth it.

I stumbled upon Wind Hair Salon through Classpass a few years ago and the haircut Kiji gave me was the best I’d had in 15+ years living in New York. I’ve been going back ever since for cuts and highlights and am always happy with the results. I couldn’t recommend them more highly!

I’m very happy with my haircut. I was not able to really articulate what I wanted (bob? But longer? Layered if possible?) and our communication wasn’t perfect. At times I doubted whether I made the right choice. But all my doubts went away as I saw him get into this deep zone strategizing about and snipping away professionally at my hair. Ultimately I loved the look and for him he said something along the lines of “satisfied with his craft, although if I wanted to experiment with more thinning or shortening he’d be down.” Definitely going back ☺️ Also, if it helps, it was 50 bucks.

Absolutely recommend to anyone who loves a good haircut. Mr. Kiji is super talented, and tells you exactly how he achieves the look, gives you great tips and more importantly - can re-create a desired look from a reference picture. I was able to get a layered look exactly like the picture I showed him, and it was a great experience. Mr. Kiji - 10/10 recommend.

I would not recommend this salon for color at all. I had my hair dyed the other day, and it was a completely different color from the photos I brought. Very disappointed after spending $300.

Absolutely thrilled with my experience at Wind Hair Salon! 🌟 From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Emma, the owner, along with Kiji, who did my haircut, were both incredibly friendly and patient. 🙌 Having ethnic curly Hispanic/Afro hair, I often struggle to find a salon that can truly manage my hair type. But not here! Kiji not only gave me a perfect, even cut but also took great care in washing, massaging, and applying top-notch moisturizing products that left my hair feeling revitalized and looking fabulous! 💇‍♀️💖 The price was unbelievably reasonable for the amount of attention and care they provided. I am so happy with the results and will definitely be recommending this salon to everyone. If you want a salon that understands and excels with diverse hair types, this is your place! Loved the way they cut my hair! I got there with the idea of a straight cut and he gave me some advices so now I have some beautiful shape. Simple and keeping the length I wanted. Also the way she washed my hair before the cutting was so relaxing. Almost felt asleep. Great experience!

I’m not one to write bad reviews, but I have to here. Very nice people but. This salon gave me the worst blow out of my life. The stylist didn’t detangle my hair before starting to dry, didn’t use ANY product - no heat protectant, no smoothing serums. I had to insist on hairspray at the end. Even I could do a better job — and I will, because I have to redo it at home now. The stylist kept insisting that my hair “can’t hold a curl.” I’ve gotten blowouts plenty of times before that have looked great, I wasn’t in the mood to argue at that point.

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. Absolutely ruined my daughter’s beautiful thick curly African American hair. The hair needed a wash and a braid, which we’ve gotten at this salon before from the owner, as we do every week from the neighborhood salons. The hair was not tangled in any manner, it was not “matted” or any of the things the owner is now alleging to appear less unprofessional. Instead of doing the hair himself, he told his assistant to handle it this time. It was clear that this person has never dealt with curly black hair. She washed it with barely any conditioner and then proceeded to brush it with the brush used for straight hair. By the time I looked up from my phone, my daughter’s hair was one giant clump on top of her head and the assistant was ripping it out of her head in a panic with the straight-hair brush. She kept screaming something in my 5 year-old’s face even though I repeatedly asked her to calm down and stop scaring her. By then the owner was finished with their other client and came over to examine the situation. He begged us to stay so he could attempt to undo the assistant’s damage, but she would not stop screaming and scaring my 5yo, so I just told them we were leaving. I even offered to pay for the wash. The fact that they actually accepted the money after what they did to us is mind-blowing. But hey, high road. I’ve tipped the owner >100% before, so at least I did not leave a tip, which was big for me. And now interestingly the story has completely changed. Apparently now my 5yo is a homeless druggie with “matted” hair all over, and the hairdresser is this brave hero who volunteered 8 hours of their time to give this homeless youth a makeover. Ugh. Skip this place. They are unprofessional and unethical. It is always empty and it is empty for a reason. Irina Barton, Esq.

Came here on a whim after brunch, thinking I wanted just a trim but since the salon only had one other person, I decided to just go for a full haircut and I'm glad I did. I gave him free reign to do whatever style he wanted as long as it was a low maintenance hairstyle, and he didn't disappoint. The hair cutting felt so relaxing that I almost fell asleep on the chair. Same for Emma's head massage. They took their time with my hair, washed and styled it afterwards, and all for $60. Definitely glad to have stumbled upon Wind Hair Salon since I've had such botched haircuts before for much higher prices. Would absolutely recommend them!

I went for a men’s haircut last week. I have fine and straight hair, had a great experience. He took time to show me pictures of what the cut should look like and put a lot of effort into making it look great. Really friendly and great service, family owned. Will be going back!
