I loved the look and ambience of this spa. I had a full spa experience gifted to me for my birthday by my children and husband. My only issue was the masseuse who burned my back with a hot salt rock and kept pressing on the front of my neck so hard that I had to stop her several times and question what was she trying to do. She said her guests like that type of neck pressure. I emphatically stated that I didn’t like it and told her that it hurt and that I couldn’t breathe when she did that. I ended my session early and we still tipped her. I told the front desk what I experienced and no one said a word. I left the spa. I hope she was at least reprimanded.

Dear Wood House Spa Team, I am writing to share feedback on my recent experience at your spa, which unfortunately left me feeling quite frustrated and dissatisfied. I traveled two hours in the pouring rain to visit your establishment, only to encounter confusion and a lack of clear communication from the moment I arrived. My best friend, who had made the booking, arrived a few minutes late due to the weather conditions, which understandably caused a slight delay in my own arrival time. However, I was never informed upfront or in bold that any time lost due to my arrival would be deducted from my scheduled service. When I contacted the front desk and inquired about the possibility of canceling my service, I was told that I could reschedule for a 10:00 AM appointment and still receive the full 50-minute service. Given the circumstances, this seemed reasonable, so I agreed to the rescheduled time. Upon arrival for the new appointment time, however, Aisha, the massage therapist, informed me that the information I had received was incorrect. She explained that 10:00 AM was her only break time, and she wasn’t sure why I was told otherwise. I was left feeling bewildered and unsupported, especially after I had already undressed and completed the spa tour in preparation for my treatment. Aisha spoke with the receptionist but returned without any clarification on the situation. Ultimately, I felt that the spa had not provided the correct expectations, and if I had been properly informed, I would have reconsidered my visit. Had I known that there would be such a lack of transparency and flexibility, I would have gladly spent my money elsewhere like Treat your feet for half the price and double the time. This is why I asked to cancel. The entire experience was disappointing, and I believe clearer communication could have prevented much of the confusion and frustration I encountered. I trust that this feedback will be taken into consideration to improve your guest experience, and I hope future clients do not face similar challenges. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I was wary of Woodhouse before making an appointment because of the poor Google reviews. A lot of reviews complain about "unfair" policies around service time or being rushed during their service. Folks, when you go to a spa, there's a reason they tell you to arrive well in advance of your appointment. It's a busy spa and they need to keep to the schedule; you'd be posting poor reviews if your appointment started late because someone else ate into your appt time. That being said, my experience still netted a 3-star review but for different reasons (3 stars is generous...it's probably closer to 2 but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt). Booking -- I received a gift card from a colleague over the holidays and I booked my facial thru the website. The fine print states that your card will not be charged at the time of booking...but it also says that even if you're using a gc, they will charge an initial deposit and then you can request that credited back at the time of service. Obviously, the language is clunky and unclear but when I brought it to their attention, they said they would speak with their supervisor to amend it and they did refund my initial deposit, which I appreciate. Ambience -- I found the front desk to be professional & pleasant upon my arrival and they gave me a tour of the spa. This location has the general layout and spa vibes you would expect, although the quiet room wasn't exactly "quiet." Not the end of the world, just an annoyance that's really commentary on the clientele vs. the staff. The lockers, restrooms, shower, and sinks are in one big room. While nicely appointed, it's a laid out awkwardly and doesn't give you much room to change without bumping into your locker neighbor. Service -- This is where things fell short. While my service provider had a nice personality, the facial itself was a massive disappointment. I understand this isn't a med spa so there are limits to what the esthetician is able to do, but it felt like my service provider was either very new to her profession or was woefully unskilled at her craft. I got a basic deep cleanse facial with added glycolic peel + hydro jelly mask. There was limited, if any, facial massage when applying the products, the extractions were extremely light (especially when this was supposed to be a deep cleanse), and while we waited for each of the 2 masks to set, she just massaged my shoulders...twice...and not well. I woke up with a migraine & stiff neck today. Anywhere else I've gone, they'll move to your hands/arms or feet for the 2nd massage set?? It was weird, to say the least. Also -- I didn't realize it until I got home, but I walked out of Woodhouse with BLUE jelly mask all over my neck, snarled in my hairline, IN and around my ears, and on my face. I was mortified because I popped into Le Bon Nosh for a coffee on my way home, so this explains the weird look I got from the cashier. I've had many, many facials over the years -- everywhere from basic no-frills places, mid-grade spas, to high-end luxury establishments, and this facial would fall at the bottom of that entire stack. And yet, they tout themselves as a luxury establishment with a luxury pricetag. To sum it up, Woodhouse is fine if you are looking for a spa vibe, sitting in a robe drinking mimosas in a quiet room. And for some people, that's all they want. Just know that you are paying for the physical space and environment, not an excellent spa treatment. If you're looking for a good facial with a good provider, this is not the place.

I came here for a body balance massage. Upon arrival they were extremely professional and detailed regarding the amenities. The facility itself was very clean. Just wish they had a hot-tub or steam room! Earlier the better to avoid crowds. I came at a time it was quiet and left when there were a bit of people in the quiet room. Regarding the massage itself, Elvin was amazing. Best massage ever. He was professional and made me feel comfortable! I highly recommend him!

I don’t recommend this place. I booked a package for my bf for Christmas. First, they were closed the day of his appointment and we were not notified. So he went all the way there and had to come back. Second, when I rebooked him they changed his 80min service to a 50min service because that’s what they had time for and did not properly communicate that. So he didn’t get the service I wanted him to have and all they offered was a 10% refund. $34 when I paid $415 total including the automatic gratuity that was not worth it. Spend your money at a better quality business that knows how to take care of their customers and provide good quality service!

Although I had a great experience our first time, the second time around was terrible customer service. First know that you cannot book a couples massage online, it has to be over the phone. We were told that we were booking for a 50 minute massage for a 1pm slot. When we arrived at 1:03pm, there was a line to check in. After waiting in line, Elizabeth checked us in but did not disclose to us that since we were a few minutes behind in getting changed, that we would not receive our full 50 minute massage that we were paying $348.00 for. As we were escorted to change and wait for our masseuses, we reach our table at 1:20pm. During the entire massage, I could tell that it was being rushed. Once completed at 1:52pm, I asked to speak to a manager to see why we didn’t receive our full 50 minute massage that we were paying for. Ashley, the manager on site, stated that she would talk to another manager to see if a discount could possibly be applied. I went back to sit down with my husband in the quiet room to relax for a moment. Elizabeth came around and asked my husband if he was doing okay and completely ignored me. After that, we decided it was time to leave. I highly doubt that Ashley did anything as when we came back to pay, she didn’t thank us or even apologize for the fact that she couldn’t provide any discount for the service. I would have appreciated if she would have tried or stated something to us, but instead before my husband paid I had to ask her if anything was done. She told us that they don’t offer discounts. As a manager, the very least I was looking for was compassion in the moment. I honestly would have been okay without a discount, but it was the way her and the entire time team made us feel about it. The sad part is the entire time prior to this, I was planning to sign up for a VIP membership. I won’t be doing so now.

I came to Woodhouse Spa on the recommendation of a friend. I'm a small business owner and I brought my Operations Manager for a spa afternoon during our annual operations retreat. We scheduled massages and pedicures and added lunch since we'd be arriving around 1:30pm. Our services were good (Michael - Pedicure and LeSheur - Massage were GREAT) but communication about the lunch we ordered was not strong. We arrived at 1:15 for our 1:30 appointment and the services were set up with the pedicures first at 1:30 and the massages afterwards. We went through both services, stopped by the quiet room for some water, got changed back into our regular clothes and then came to the desk to check out. Since we hadn't been offered our lunch at all by the time we got to the desk about a quarter to 4, we asked for it to be taken off the bill. The first associate we spoke to apologized that we hadn't gotten it and said that it'd be taken off. Then someone else came up from the back and said that she'd just set it up somewhere in the back for us and kept repeating this as we shared that we had to get going. Eventually she asked if we'd like it packed up to go. Given that that was the first time it was offered to us, we were already changed to go, we had a schedule to keep, and we'd been there for nearly 3.5 hours already by that point, I again declined and said we'd just like it taken off the bill. This associate insisted that it was already made and set up and that taking it off the bill would not be a possibility. We finally consented to wait for it to be packed up to take it with us. During this discussion at the desk, one associate clearly wanted to give us a discount, another clearly did not. While we waited, I realized that I left my lip gloss in the women's dressing room and went to grab it. I saw those same two associates disagreeing in the hallway about whether or not we should be given a discount for how the experience of our lunch played out. Given the amount spent and the luxury experience that Woodhouse Spas promote, I was disappointed by how our visit ended. Our check out experience left a VERY bad taste in my mouth. The fact that none of the associates in the building seemed to have the authority to remove the lunch from our bill, the fact that the associates disagreed openly about how to handle our case, the fact that there was not discussion with us when we arrived about when we wanted our lunch during our service..... it all felt messy and disorganized at best. Disrespectful at worst.

My husband and I decided to celebrate our anniversary here and it was a terrible start to our day. We both feel the same way we did when we walked in. The service was absolutely horrible. Our massage therapists asked about our pressure points and they were just rubbed over. Literally. Felt like we just paid $500 for someone to put lotion on us. Will never be back and will definitely not refer anyone here. Literally the worst spa experience ever. Please spend your money and time elsewhere. Edit: The owner, Shaniqua called to rectify the situation by asking for us to come back in for another massage or receive some money back. I chose the latter because I didn’t want to risk another horrible massage and waste my time. Our total bill was $456 including the automatic gratuity. She stated that she wouldn’t take the tip from the massage therapists, so she returned $95, which is 25% of the actual service $380. I appreciate her call back and professionalism and wanting to resolve the matter so 5 stars to the owner, but I stand by the massage therapists being 1/5. I’ve updated my review from 1/5 to 3/5 only because I appreciate the owner’s professionalism, and her service + their service averages out to 3 stars. Maybe you will have a better experience here in Buckhead than we did, but we still will not be back. The other surrounding locations in Avalon and Dunwoody have higher reviews, so they could also be alternative options for you.

My massage was great and everyone was very friendly! I felt like my massage therapist really paid attention to my problem areas and made me feel comfortable. I do want to point out an issues to be aware of. After the service, there is an automatic 20% surcharge added without input from the customer. Note that the dunwoody location doesn’t have the automatic 20% surcharge, which I prefer. My reason is while I tend to tip 15-20% anyway, I prefer to have the autonomy to give feedback via my tip. It would make much more sense to simply add the charge upon booking if it’s automatic or at least make it known. It seems like a basic business misunderstanding of what tipping is in the US. For instance, restaurant workers rely on tips to make minimum wage and therefore it is very necessary to tip at all times at restaurants. For other services, the tip is associated with performance and therefore the better the service the better the tip. I would appreciate some transparency if this location is paying its workers less than standard to justify the need for auto charge. There is something about automating the charge without consent from customers or transparency that just seems like a flaw in business management. Especially when other Woodhouse spa locations and other ATL spas do not do this.

The Experience was REMARKABLE! The atmosphere was relaxing, the customer service was excellent and I went today for my Birthday and had an epic massage with the hot stones and it was soo good. The right pressure, heated beds, an excellent way to celebrate my Birthday. Then they gave me a big slice of cake too. I will be back for sure. Parking is validated too.
