Having JUST come in from a flight to visit friends in NC I had the opportunity to book a last minute appointment with Yae. She was so welcoming and down to earth, even gave me tips on my future hair care needs. 10 out of 10 my silk press came out so perfect! She has a permanent client in me anytime I come back to visit.

I booked an appointment with Yae initially, and she wasn't feeling well, so she left. She stated her daughter would do my hair, and since that's her child, I felt like I was in good hands. wrong! she was so unprofessional. I requested a short bob, and she didn't even section my hair when cutting it. she had no idea what she was doing. I walked out of there with an lopsided bob and I still have split ends. after she cut my hair, she proceeded to say that i shouldn't have cut my hair, little does she know I've worn my hair short for years. they need to make sure that the stylists in there can do a simple haircut. i don't even think she is licensed.

If I could give it zero I would ! I made a appointment for no reason I was waiting with the walk ins !! I don't book appointments and have multiple people playing on my hair neither I don't recommend ,its inconsiderate having someone wait like that ! You don't know what I had planned I rather go somewhere else and pay more

Very unprofessional had a appointment at 1:25 she did was my hair until after 2:00 did not wash my hair correctly and was expecting walk ins even though I made an appointment worse experience EVER do not waste your time TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!

Yae went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, and safe in her space, she played peaceful lofi music which I loved & the environment was just , phenomenal. Her workplace is very clean + welcoming , which plays a big role in my desire to return & also refer others to her!!!!!! While also providing the absolute best service, from washing & steaming my hair with moisturizing oils to straitening it and trimming. Thank you Yae for the amazing service & allowing me to walk out with a smile on my face & another thing to thank God for. You have truly blessed me today & I pray that you continue to bless others in the way that you have blessed me today. 100/10.

If you want to wait hours after your appt time to get started, and treated poorly, this is the Yae is the stylist for you! Come when you have scheduled the day off. Your 8am appt will start at 2pm.

THE WORST!!! Your appointment could be at 8 she will not get started until 11:30 and pass you around to other stylist and when she finally does get to your hair she’s walking around talking to everyone, on her phone and distracted it’s extremely annoying. I hate it. I will not be back. You can try to delete i will be reposting.

I made a last minute appointment with Yae on the weekend for a Monday. I wasn't sure if they accepted appointments, but she reached out to me and fit me in very last minute. I was in and out in less than 2 hours, which was amazing! I've booked my next appt!

Appointment was at 9:30. Didn’t get my hair washed until 10:50. Had to wait again, got hair blow dried around 12, had to wait again. got hair straightened around 1. Mind you everything done so far is not done by the person I booked with. Around 1:30 was finally in the chair of the person I booked with, she didn’t greet me & was on her phone and had me sitting waiting for a minimum of 10 minutes. Didn’t ask what I wanted, I had to tell her & she didn’t say anything else. She did a “trim” curled my hair & put me under the dryer. I did not leave the salon until after 2pm. She was sure to seem nicer when it came time to pay. My roots were back to their natural state the next day. Definitely not worth the price or almost 5 hours for a simple silk press that did not last.

DO NOT BOOK!!! Yae is very unorganized, inconsiderate, unprofessional, You will be in the shop for a 8hr work shift with your head not even washed. I missed my mother bday dinner because of her. She always over book and can’t get her clients in and out in a timely manner!!

I came in thinking my hair was damaged beyond repair, but once I received my wash, treatment, and silk press I left feeling like Beyoncé. You know when her hair be blowing on stage. Yeah that’s me. Lol. But Yae, is amazing. She’s very professional and talented. I appreciate a stylist who pays attention to your hair needs. I’ve finally found my one healthy hair stylist in Charlotte. I highly recommend. I’ll even be bringing my son and boyfriend for treatments and twist.

I normally do not write reviews but today I walked into a wonderful salon atmosphere and greeted by wonderful and amazing Stylist and owner Yae and her staff are truly a blessing. They are kind hearted and care about their clients and the hair care they provide .I was planning a trip and it was last minute and out off the kindness of her heart Yae fit me into her busy schedule and made me look more beautiful than I could ever imagine. Thank you so much Yae . I just found my new stylist. If you are looking for an amazing atmosphere and an amazing look please make this salon your first stop.

YaeHairCare has been the best thing that had happened to my hair. Since moving to the Charlotte area, I found this salon and have been coming to her for 5 years. Yae has the best personality, ability to care for and grow your hair. She treats everyone like family and is professionally concerned with the health of your hair. 0/10. Bad service, you can book with one person but a different person will do your hair. I went to the salon on two occasions, the first encounter was decent because Ms. Kim (usually at Pennsylvania location) did my hair and she’s a sweetheart. Second encounter a young lady did my hair.. I waited at least 2 hours to get serviced (if not more and I made an appointment online). The young lady stated she wasn’t familiar doing natural hair but was asked by her colleagues could she do my hair, so she did. When I left the salon I was in disbelief because I solely wanted to support my fellow black people but the unprofessionalism is ridiculous. To top it off, my friend recently went there despite me telling her about my experiences and was also disappointed. She made an appointment online, waited for 5 hours to get serviced and ended up leaving unhappy. In conclusion, the salon has potential but employees aren’t doing their due diligence. Will leave the salon unsatisfied, burnt scalp, and looking like your hair wasn’t even done. Some pointers will be properly scheduling but most importantly time management.

DO NOT BOOK HERE! Very unprofessional. They will have you sit here a full day even with an appt. This shop is run very poorly and it’s so unorganized. I sat around all day just to get my hair done. Tried the tape ins and after sitting around all day, my install was rushed. Paid a lot of money for the tape in to not even be good and they only lasted a week before sliding out. Some were buckled at the roots and all. I came back a second time for a different service and experienced the same thing. Long waits for a morning appt and not being styled until later in the afternoon. So glad I found another salon for my hair care needs because I will never step foot in Yae’s shop again.

Do NOT I repeat Do NOT ever go to Yae .This stylist has the worst customer service I waited for hours with and appointment and still pawn me off to someone else to do my hair even though I had a scheduled appointment with her . My niece came to get her hair done drove over a hour for her services for her to say that she couldn’t do her hair because it had oil in it . Meanwhile her mother call and asked how to prep her hair it was detangle with conditioner as she was told . She also attempted to charge this 9 year old little girl with above shoulder length hair $150 for a blow out when the price is $75 . She is a complete scam and everyone should report her to the better business bureau and cosmetology board because I sure am !

Easy to make a hair appointment via the website and I was thankful to get a same day appointment. They do offer walk-ins but be mindful someone might be in the chair . Only negative is no heat protectant was applied to the hair when blow drying and straightening. Happy with my hair otherwise

Edit : Now you can continue to delete my review if you’d like but I’ve said nothing but the truth, you and I both know it & it doesn’t matter when it happened it happened and it’s my experience. Clearly your work was decent enough for me to book you but you didn’t follow through so take ownership like a boss does it’s not my job to continue to remind you that I’m there when I made you aware and you acknowledged me I would have been paying you. The day before Christmas Eve I came in with a scheduled appointment at 1:30 with the owner Yae. I walked in at my appointment time and notice someone was in her chair , that’s fine I understand people run behind. I told Yae who I was as I walked in the door because she was accepting walk ins as well. Long story short I sat there for 2 hours head not touched 4 other people ended up going ahead of me, because it’s not my job to remind you because when I don’t know who has an appointment or is a walk ins. Mind you during this 2 hour wait her worker came up to me and tried to put me in the walk in rotation when I told her no I am here for Yae I have a 1:30 appointment she says okay walks away and comes back after I’ve sat there for 2 hours and try's to wash me again I decline and tell her I’m having my husband pick me up because at this point the owner ( Yae) has wasted my time. There was no discussion between her and her worker because I would think the worker assumed that her Boss knew she had appointment as she’s the one who runs it and you have to be confirmed to even have an appointment. Yae gave me no apology for wasting my time when she finally acknowledged I was still there when my husband was on the way she just said you sure you good? This was very unprofessional and I just had to let potential clients know this is the way Yae runs her business as it isn’t my first incident like this happening with her before she had her shop here in Charlotte and was working out of an apartment in I think university or Harrisburg area (about 7 years ago) , when she first started traveling from PA to here but I thought I’d give her another chance because I understand how life happens anyway ALL in ALL sometimes people don’t deserve second chances and when they show you who they are believe them. It’ll definitely save you time.

I booked an appointment with Yae 3 weeks ago ahead of my birthday on 9/8. The morning before, I’m preparing for my appointment and I notice that the location on my confirmation email is showing an entirely different state even though the stylist it says I booked with is “yae CHARLOTTE”. So I reach out first thing in the AM to confirm that my appointment was indeed in Charlotte. Yae texts back and says she *forgot* she had to stay home to wait for the mechanics to come fix her AC. Cool, I understand things happen. Not sure how you *forgot* to inform the people who booked with you that day, but I guess informing her clients wasn’t a priority for her. I’m sure that if I hadn’t reached out myself I would have shown up at the salon and been stood up. I tried to be flexible, let her know I could come later once the air was fixed but that my bday was the next day and my flight left the next morning at 9 AM. She told me to give her an hour to sort things out…4-5 hours pass and no update so I follow up. She’s like I don’t want you to feel like I’d ever do you no kinda way I didn’t expect this to happen. Still, I’m keeping it cool…still no resolution, still barely responding so she did INDEED do me that kinda way lol but still, I’m keeping it cool I message her again like I have full grounds to leave you yet another bad review but instead doing that and potentially hurting your business, I’m going to offer you grace. Never met this girl a day in my life, but business owner to business owner, I offered for she and I to sit down over lunch to talk through why clients are continually having such poor experiences with her and to share systems, softwares and strategies along with info I’ve learned through various coaching programs to help her get the business running smoothly and to repair her reputation. I let her know she’s way too talented to be out here moving like this. She ignored the message and offer completely. Lol but sadly enough, some people don’t want to/be do better, they wanna cap and flex on the gram 😕 She just responded saying she’s having a bad day and yadayadayada as if that’s an excuse for completely ruining someone else’s BIRTHday who choose you of all ppl to do business with. She offers to accommodate me some other time and I ask “are you offering some kind of incentive to rebook? Like a discounted service” (which, if she was a professional, is what she SHOULD be doing to anyone she inconveniences and leaves hanging) …no reply. This was 3 days ago and still no reply yet yesterday she’s on IG advertising that “walk ins are welcome” lol like girl what about the people you stood up?! Yeah you can offer to reschedule my appt but I couldn’t reschedule my birthday, sis. So what are YOU going to do to repair my trust in you and to incentivize me to give you another chance. Nothing. So here we are. Grace didn’t work, plus this is clearly a pattern for her so let me just tell it like it is and exactly as it was. 0/10. Do not recommend.

Let me tell you about YAEHAIRCARE 🗣️ Their energy and the ambience is everything! I LOVE how you’re in and out and they work together so effortlessly! My hair has been growing tremendously since Yae has been doing it! It has so much body and the style literally lasts for 2 weeks and maybe more if I didn’t sweat it out as much! My daughter was the one that came to you today. There was NOTHING wrong with her hair and for you try and make a child feel bad about her hair is Disgusting! You claim you specialize in all textures (per your website) but you couldn’t do a 9 year old girl hair that was clearly detangled (NOT matted per your previous response). You just didn’t feel like doing it and the price went from 75 to 150 so I would leave, which is exactly what I did. My daughter was disappointed but I let her know there are professional stylists out there that respect ALL their customers and will do what they advertise.

This was my first silk press at this salon in Charlotte. I haven’t had a press in about 3 years, I just get blow out to get my maintenance trims. I booked for a Friday afternoon. I enjoyed myself as it had the feel of an old school beauty salon (drinks, music, shop talk and food) I booked same day online and arrived for appointment. I was asked to sit and wait (20-30 minutes) not bad at all however once I was brought back to shampooing bowl I was ask to detangle my hair even more and it was already detangle. My stylist was the owner’s daughter. I personally prefer my hair wet to detangle. I asked for a steam treatment that was lack luster. Then it was time to prep for silk press. I remember asking and confirming that they used HEAT Protectant bc I didn’t want significant damage to my natural curly hair and was told it will be applied. This salon does not have clients facing the mirror to see what stylist is doing which is something I normally do not prefer for the safety of my hair. However I continued with the process of the press, I have tends to be finer when blown out or straightened so I advise not using a high heat as if you would with someone with thicker hair. My press lasted 2 days and barely made it to Sunday as it started to frizz. I used rollers to give it a little longevity. Last week I went to wash my hair and my natural hair is DESTROYED and I’m hurt bc I really enjoyed the salon experience. After double cleansing twice, 3 deep conditioning treatments and protein treatment my hair will not revert. My bangs are basically straight and my curls are nonexistent and are 3a/3b when my hair was 4a/4b. I will now have to cut my hair after doing all the years of work to get it healthy after going to Dominican salons my entire life. This is the only reason I could not give 5 stars. They offer other services that I may try in the future but I wouldn’t recommend their silk press service with true natural hair. If you are “heat trained” than I think you would be more use to the results.

Yae is the TRUTH! She does her thing everytime I come to her. Yesterday, I was a squeeze in and I have a lot of 4c hair that needed some TLC, she stayed in the salon taking care of all her customers AND me! She did not leave until 12am. She is a hardworking and dedicated hair stylist. I appreciate all she does for her clients and my hair. If you want someone who genuinely cares, knows how to do and grow hair, and creates an experience while you get your new do, Yae is your person!
