I guess the 12 yo who picked up the phone got offended by the term barber. If you have an attitude when setting up an appt how can you trust them with your hair?

I would have given 0 star. Went to this salon hoping to save money and get the haircut and hairstyle that they overcharged. This older lady charged me too much and dishonest. She cuts my hair how she wants it ignoring what i want. Or doesnt know how that haircut is. Got mad when i addressed the issue. She says she has years of experienced.but,They need to do new training. Now i have to wait months to grow back my hair so i can get somebody else to do my hair right. Dishonest. The chemical she puts on my hair i remember that smell.when i was younger back in the 80's they used that to give a curl perm. I can still smell it. My hair is ruined. I have to iron to get my hair straight. its not the money. But the service u expected that was not given to u. What a dishonest person.

Crystal and Sally are amazing! They're very passionate on styling hair and every time I visit it's as if I was visiting my family. We always have warm conversations and it's nice to support a small business! They're also multi-lingual, Sally knows over 6 languages!!

They are professional and kind to all their clients, I enjoy my conversation every time I come in. Crystal and Sally are wonderful assets to the community!

The stylists at Yips have always been amazing to me. I have been going there for 5 years and haven’t looked back. They are very kind and can cut any hair really well. Show a picture and explain what you want, I’m sure they can do it.

You will have no regrets coming here, I was very fortunate to find this salon on a whim. I was a loyal customer to a hair salon back in California for about 5 years. Having moved to Chicago, I knew it would be a struggle to find someone who I could trust and was worth the money. I refuse to go to overpriced hair salons. Called for an appointment. I came in with long hair that had not been cut for about 1.5 years. I was reluctant to find another hair stylist since the pandemic. Sally was the most meticulous and knew exactly what she was doing as I roughly told her what I had in mind. I came in for a trim/layers and highlights. I felt like I was taken care of to the fullest extent. I felt compelled to come right home and write a review for this business. Sally and her sister are skilled at what they do for +10 years and best of all, affordable. I am extremely happy to support a mom & pop/local business. I was provided the service and warm conversation as if I was having my haircut by an auntie! I will be coming here again without a doubt.

Had been coming here for years now and i would not go any other Salon. I would just let my hair grow and grow when they are close for a week. That is how dedicated i am and trusting that they are the only ones that can trully fix my hair. They make it appoint to know everyone and having that family vibe. Asian hairdressers are the BEST. Because they put a lot of passion styling someone's hair not just snip snip snip. They listen to the customers concern and at the end it crowning beauty. Sally ane Crystal are the BEST.no wonder they are always busy. 😊😍

She takes care of my hair, she colors it and I love that it’s not damage at all. That’s why i always come back to her to touch it up for the last 5 yrs. I never had any problems with her and listen to what she recommends you doing to keep your hair healthy and shiney. It’s now below my shoulders and I’m loving it.

I went to yr shop for makeup my face. That's day was my engagement day. She(the old women) makeup my face as like as a ghost. she said she has a lot of makeup products. She didn't erased my old base foundation and she just put one type of cream.. That's not ever cover my pimples. She said if we had pimple, difficult to apply foundation. lipstick also look like ugly for me and when I asked to repair my makeup, she said to me she has another customer.damn! N she's mascara also dry and no more. Really bad to me. Then I've paid to her $60.so expensive. When I went to home. I erased whole of my ugly makeup and just makeup myself. Stupid. I would never go to yr shop again.

Cyrstal has been cutting my family's hair for more than 4 years, and we couldn't be happier. She is extremely talented, professsional and friendly. I've gone to other salons for the same haircut and paid 4 times the amount she charges...yes, she's that good!
