I really did enjoy my experience with Mary - lovely, kind, warm and very gifted hair stylist. I booked my hair cut with her while visiting SF and I couldn’t be happier with the hair cut and how Mary made me feel. I will sure come back. Thank you Mary ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Helen is a fantastic hairstylist! She's incredibly personable and makes you feel comfortable from the first meeting. I was clueless about what would work on me, but she listened and paid attention to what I was hoping to accomplish and worked with me on a color and cut that is super flattering. I highly recommend Helen especially for anyone with Asian hair.

During the consultation, Yuzu (she) took the time to carefully explain what I didn't understand. Thanks to Yuzu, I was able to leave it to her with peace of mind and I was very satisfied with my straight hair. Her Japanese straightening skills are amazing！

Very disappointed in this salon; I chose this one due to convenience in terms of distance and positive reviews but I came back immensely irritated. For reference, i asked for a dye on two front strands and a haircut to be done by Helen. Helen refused to give me the haircut I actually wanted when planning this appointment because it would be too “high maintenance” for me, so she essentially freestyled it after convincing, almost forcing, me to not get the haircut I intended on getting. To the dying part, I have black hair and had two front pieces of hair that were dyed blonde. I was hoping to get them back to my natural color, which I know, is a long process that wouldn’t take solely one appointment since blonde to black is a lengthy process. However, I got my hair preliminarily dyed and part of my service allowed me to come back in the following weeks to finish the next step of dying for my hair to be completely back to my original color, keep in mind that it CAME with what I had already paid for. Helen was gone in the following weeks on vacation to New York and I was not able to book with her until she came back, and when she did she told me that it would no longer be complimentary since I took longer than the 2-3 week window in which the service is still free and included. This is absolutely ridiculous because I had to wait for Helen herself to come back from her several-week long vacation to get my hair finished by her. Although she ended up apologizing and taking accountability for her mistake, I do not think it was my job to think for her, especially considering how she was the one gone on her vacation. Not to mention, she talked to me about several inappropriate topics that a stranger probably should know about during my appointment. The cherry on top is that my service was $250+. I did not dye my whole head, just two strands at the front of my head along with a haircut. Egregious pricing coupled with bad costumer service. Would not recommend.

Did a same day appointment and didn’t know any of the stylists at the salon. I was assigned to Yuzu and she did AMAZING!!! I am rarely impressed by haircuts and even days after the haircut, I still love it. I came in with an inspiration video and she helped modify the look based on what I liked. She made the layers blend in so seamlessly with my bangs at the perfect length. Highly recommend for a detailed and professional experience.

I came in for a partial balayage by Helen and the price point was at $400 (not including tip). Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the results since I could barely see the difference from my before and after. Helen offered to touch it up even before I had even mentioned my dissatisfaction. I asked for a refund instead since I am busy and she agreed. She was only able to fulfill half of the refund at that time but offered the other half next month. However, she could not fulfill the other half of the refund after I followed up with her twice the next month. I am giving it two stars as she did not have a bad attitude (towards me).

If I could leave less than one star, I would. I left the salon looking like a clown and had to go home and re-color my hair! Really terrible experience, my stylists didn’t speak English and was very difficult to communicate with her. I went for highlights and ended up getting an overall color, which was also very far from the color I would ever wear.

Helen is fantastic! It had been almost a year since my last color and my gray hair seems to keep multiplying these days 😱 Her consultation was considerate around my lifestyle and requests but if you hand her the reigns, she’s an expert at what she does! I am so happy with how the color turned out, and she started to blend in the gray hairs so it looks more natural. I highly recommend Helen!

Helen knows her stuff! After so many places and disappointment's in other salon. I came to the right place to have my hair fixed. Helen couldn't have done a better job. She was extremely sweet and took into account my natural hair texture, explained all the steps to me, and answered all my questions. I never felt doubtful or nervous. I have tried many salons but could never find a stylist who would actually take a moment to examine my hair and treat it with care- which is important for someone with thin, frizzy highlighted hair. Definitely will be back! Thanks Helen!

It was specified that it was 85 when signing up online and the. Told right before the appointment that it was 155 for an appointment that I made a month before. I asked her to cut off my dead ends while not cutting off too much as my hair is already short and she proceeded to barely cut anything off about half a inch and may not even and leave me with pretty much the same hair length and amount of dead ends. I really spent 155 + tip for that. Don’t go here

Simon is one of the best technical hair stylist that I have found in the city! He helped me create volume, frame my facial features just right, and the scalp massage was amazing. I especially love that they don't sell you a ton of products and they don't put a ton of products in your hair. He provided additional solutions to achieve the type of style I wanted, without making me feel insecure. Very clean salon. Bonus- the service was reasonably priced!

This was the worst experience in a salon I’ve ever had. I tried to stop the woman from perming my hair wrong when she started and I could tell it was not what I asked for but she argued with me saying it was what I wanted. After it was ruined I messaged saying I was really disappointed with my hair. They affected to make me an appointment to fix it so I was happy. Due to my cancer I was sick that day and had to cancel. I tried to reschedule but all the days they had available were days I had doctors appointments. I was sent a message saying that they couldn’t help me. I asked why? Is it because I was sick due to my cancer? The woman tried to say she never said they couldn’t help me and that it was a communication issue due to language barriers but it doesn’t take being fluent in any language to be able to make an appointment. It’s an easy fix. Do not waist your time and money here.

had a wonderful haircut and perm with mary! she was very experienced, communicative, and friendly and gave me exactly what I was looking for. very pleased with the result even a month and a half later. she even included a korean-style down perm to keep my sides flat longer. there aren’t too many places in SF where they offer mens’ perms, let alone do it so well. definitely coming back in the future! fun fact: she speaks english, chinese, and japanese all quite well

I called to make an appointment for my wheelchair bound mother and Winnie confirmed that they can accommodate a wheelchair. I sent my mothers formula so that they could color match with their own color line and received a text the next day that they cannot accommodate my mom due to not having the right color. This is a straight brown color that can be matched by any color line. This reeks of decriminalizing of the elderly and disabled. I would think twice about patronizing this business and spending your money here!

Just had my first haircut since 2018! I wanted to wait til all this covid craziness is done. My hairdresser was Joanne and she is so professional and made me feel comfortable throughout my appointment. She cut off so much hair but I feels so light and I love how it looks. I think I found my go to salon. Parking might be a little difficult but you can take the 1 California bus line or uber. Make sure you make an appointment at least a week in advance.

I met the owner (Simon), enjoyed a friendly conversation around business, travel and more; to make it even better I got a stylish haircut where Simon remembered all my requested details, never once hesitated as he worked his shears. Stop thinking, and make an appointment to come see HELEN!! I migrated to San Francisco for a few months and found this trendy spot. I can confidently say that the past 2 visits with Helen have been insightful, and it is not unreasonable to say that the consultations with her have been truly eye-opening. After a troublesome haircut a few months back left me looking like a pre-seasonal Christmas tree, I knew I had to find someone who could work with my thick, wavy Asian hair, which is tricky to cut. I was so glad to find this place, where Helen worked her magic on my dull and poofy hair and transformed it 360 into a bulk-free and textured style with face framing curtain bangs. Not only that, but she provided tips on how to properly care for my hair texture, and walked me through how to style the cut she gave. The salon itself is sparkling clean, bright, airy, and welcoming. Nothing but good things to say, looking forward to going back for a touchup with Helen in a few weeks!
