I’m late in posting this review but Habin is the best! I was nervous about coloring my hair again because I didn’t want to damage my hair but it looks so amazing even 3 months out. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my hair and it still feels and looks so healthy. 10/10 would recommend Habin 💗

My husband recently had an appointment with Angelina, and he had an absolutely great experience! The salon is charming—super stylish, clean, and very professional. Angelina did a fantastic job with his haircut, really listening to what he wanted and delivering exactly what he envisioned. He walked out feeling refreshed and confident. We’re both so pleased with the results! Highly recommend Angelina and this wonderful salon. We’ll definitely be back!

Been coming to this Salon for a couple of years now, all the stylist are super friendly! Every stylist in the Salon do Beautiful work! My stylist Emily gives great input into my hair concerns and styles, always taking her time with me to make sure I get exactly what I ask for. My Daughter books with her aswell! I leave her chair with the most Beautiful hair ever! I Definitely recommend this Salon and My stylist Emily!

Love this salon so much!!! Ash does my hair - if you are wanting an expert colorist that knows how to do coppers, he’s your guy. Not only is he an absolute gem but all the stylist working are so inviting and really create a space you love to chill in for the next couple of hours. Couldn’t be happier with the salon and my every 6 week visits❤️

As much as I’ve wanted to like it, I can’t shake the feeling of having been ripped off. I’ll list the positives and negatives of my experience, you be the judge. I had a set of k-tips I needed to remove, and called to know whether they offered the service and how much they would charge. The person I talk to tells me she is not sure, she is going to text me and let me know. After we hang up, while going through their website menu to see their appointment availability I find the service listed for $75. A few hours go by, I get a text that says it’s $100 an hour. I go back on the website menu and the price has been promptly changed there as well. Not a great start, I know, but this salon is the closest to where I live, and it seems to have pretty good reviews. Yeah, it’s a little odd, but in the end what difference does that $25 make, I think to myself, and I book my appointment. My stylist is very young, and really nice. She tells me my hair looks good, that I’ve been taking really good care of my extensions. I had something like 120 grams of hair. She is delicate and takes her time. But to the point that, I kid you not, it takes her 4 hours. Which I start to worry about as the chemical used to take down keratin bonds is not supposed to stay on your head for that long. Also, for a service that is priced by hour it’s obviously not the best. During the service, I get to talk with the owner, Monique. She is adorable, and gives me precious advice to keep my hair healthy. With my surprise, after my shampoo, while I walk back to my chair my stylist starts listing all the payment methods they accept. It takes me a minute to realize I am expected to walk out with damp hair and no styling. This has never happened to me before. After an hour or so, at home, my scalp starts itching, especially in the crown area, which is the area she started from. I look in the mirror and it’s burning red! All things considered, the vibe in the salon was super chill and everyone was very nice, and that’s what I added the second star for. But 4 hours to take down 120 grams of hair seems like a bit of a stretch! It is double the time it has ever taken anyone else, and it damaged my scalp. When I told my friends, they said nobody pays over $400 for extensions removal, not even in LA, and on top of it walks out with damp hair.

The vibe in this salon is like no other. It's fun, great music, beautiful and some very talented artists within. Monique Northrop, salon owner has been my hair magic girl for many, many years. I always leave the salon happy and have told Monique if I ever move, you have to move with me :) If you haven't had an appointment at You Pretty Things for cut, color, style, whatever you may need, you are truly missing out!! Highly recommend!!!! 💜💜💜

This is the best salon! Not only is the salon beautiful, but Monique is a wizard with color AND cutting. I had terrible color before going to her and she has fully transformed my hair. She’s consistent, had the best personality and will I’ll simply never let anyone else touch my hair.

Came here to get my hair done by Habin Lee and WOW she did not disappoint. She is the sweetest! Habin was so gentle on my eczema prone, sensitive scalp. Some stylists will refuse to work on my hair because of how sensitive my scalp is, but she did it perfectly! She wasn’t annoyed at all by my request to not let any dye touch my scalp. I’m so grateful and amazed. I had been following her work on Instagram @hair_habin_lee for months before coming in and I regret not coming sooner! The salon itself is very pretty and clean. Restroom was also clean. The other stylists also seemed nice.

Monique and Melissa have been doing my hair for 9 years and I have to say, the consistency, warmth, and overall amazing vibes these two bring every single time I see them not only makes sitting in a chair FUN, my heart gets a little hug seeing these two. My hair looks perfect always and I moved to New Mexico during Covid and COME TO LA TO SEE THEM! That's how good they are. If you're looking for the best in the biz, get these two on your regular rotation.

Habin has been my hair girl since I moved to LA, and she still gets it right every time! This time I got a hair cut, since I had damaged ends after not being able to see her for a year. I asked Habin to give me a 90s layered bob that wouldn’t be too short, and she gave me exactly that. Habin always takes really good care of my hair, and is gentle and patient with it despite its naturally curly texture. The salon’s vibes were also pretty and relaxing, which was nice since it was my day off work. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately, I had one of worst salon experiences. I have natural 4c hair and requested a cut and touch up of my color done by another stylist. The cut was fine. The color I left with was incredibly unflattering to my skin tone. After styling I was dismissed and told to let my hair air dry on my own time. A first for me being expected to walk out with damp hair. The process to get my hair to the color I never asked for permanently ruined my curls. My tight coils are no more. My hair is much thinner and sheds a ton. Don't let the company photo of a black with an afro fool you into thinking they are equipped to do your hair. Go elsewhere.

Ask for Habin - she’s colored my hair for almost two years now, and she nails it every time. She styles your hair so it suits your face, vibe, etc. perfectly, I leave feeling flattered every time! I followed her to You Pretty Things and I’m so glad I did! This space is so lovely and cute, and parking is finally easy for once in LA. I had a wonderful experience, will definitely be coming back!

First off, the salon itself had a lovely ambiance with its modern decor and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff greeted me with warm smiles and made me feel instantly comfortable. Habin took the time to listen to my hair concerns, preferences, and offered valuable suggestions. It was evident that she possessed a deep understanding of different hair types and styles. Moreover, Habin also shared some handy tips on how to maintain the style at home, which I greatly appreciated. Aside from her technical prowess, Habin was an absolute joy to converse with. She was friendly, personable, and made the whole experience enjoyable. We chatted about various topics, and it felt like catching up with an old friend. I first started going to Brittany about a year ago after decades of struggling with my hair. I’ve done every type of processing through the years - dye, bleach, relax, perm, you name it. Brittany was the first person to actually listen to what I had to say about how my hair processes. She was also so careful in minimizing the amount of damage. I use hot tools more often than I did before, and my hair is the healthiest it’s ever been. Brittany has taken me from brunette, to blonde, and now ginger. It’s always exactly what I was asking for, if I wasn’t sure what I wanted, she helped me get there. On top of being excellent at what she does, she’s also incredibly sweet and great to talk to!

I found You Pretty Things early in the pandemic after I ruined my hair with at home dyes! Well my goodness was I well taken care of. Brittany and Monique fixed me up and I haven't looked back. They are true miracle workers with cut and color. Now I have a TON of grays and see Brittany every 6-8 weeks. I always love my color and I feel so comfortable with whatever is suggested when I feel like I want to go a little wild. You'll be super happy here!

I was referred to Monique by a friend in 2014. I was having hair struggles and she is exceptional. Since meeting Monique my hair has significantly improved! Beyond this talent I have seen her mentor and train Melissa, Emily, and Brittany and they all have done my hair over the years. They have such a close connection and vibe, going to see them is more than just a hair appointment. This is where you want to go for color, cuts, extensions and quality time with great people.

This place is amazing! My friend recommended you pretty things to me (she goes to Monique) and I’ve been into see Brittany 4 times now and it’s always a great experience. The salon is cute, in a good area and parking is easy. I’m currently drinking Prosecco, getting highlights and having a laugh. What more could you want!

You Pretty Things is the best!!! As a recent NYC transplant, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to find a stylist I loves as much as my long time stylist in New York. Brittany and Monique at You Pretty Things have completely surpassed all my expectations. The highlights I get with Brittany are bright, natural, long lasting, the EXACT beach blonde I’ve longed for. Monique gave me a cut that I am still (months later) complimented on almost daily. I don’t have enough wonderful things to say about this place. Highly recommend!!!
