They don’t specialize in 4C hair. They will burn and damage it. Very unpleased with 1st and 2nd service when giving the benefit of the doubt.

Ni a mi peor enemigo le recomendaría ir a este matadero llamado “ salón de belleza” me quemaron todo mi pelo encima de eso me hice un cambio de color en 280 dólares que quedó horrible pedí rubio y me dieron un naranja cuando le reclame por el color a Yvelisse “la dueña”me dijo que no se podía arreglar de inmediato que cuando vuelva. Ahora tengo que recortar el poco pelo que tengo con la esperanza de que me crezca pronto. Sin más para decir no vayan a este salon a la dueña no le importa solo quiere cobrar una suma excesiva por sus mediocres servicios sin darle la atención que el cliente se merece.

This is the second time I visited them and was happy with my haircut. The stylists don’t speak Spanish, have a photo of the haircut ready with you, and they’ll do the job. The prices are also reasonable.

I've visited about 5 times. They do wonderful work. The place is always clean. The hair stylists are nice and I see them do such nice hair styles people. They are nicely priced. They accept walk-ins. I do recommend this business.

My stylist is very professional and always on time. She takes excellent care of my hair and cuts my hair to perfection. She knows how to do a variety of styles and hair colors. She is one of a kind, a real Boss!

DO NOT RECOMMEND!! I asked for a blowout and I believe they put a perm in my hair. My scalp burned after the wash and it’s been 4 weeks since then and I can still smell perm even though I washed my hair since. I am extremely disappointed being that I have not had a perm in my hair for over 12 years. Thumbs down boo.

Every time I go, I am greeted as if I had been missed. The owner takes very good care of me a makes sure all clients are well looked after! It is a 10 out 10 for me!

I've been coming to this salon over 10 years. It's the consistency for me. I'm never rushed and the shampoo is 10/10. I love that you don't need an appointment.

I went to visit my long lost tia’s today for a blow out after not seeing them in almost 10 years because I moved away and gosh did my hair miss them. My mom would always take me to Yvelisse to do my hair all through middle, high school, and my first year in college. I saw them last when I was 20 years old and today I’m 31. They recognized and remembered me immediately which means a lot. They always kept my hair so healthy and sleek which is why it’s still so healthy and long here today. The salon has gotten even better since my last visit 10 years ago. My hair turned out just as Beautiful today as it did when I was little girl. Go see Yvelisse if you want your hair slayed! I love this salon so much I’ve been coming here for over 7 years and it’s the best experience every time. Everyone there has a beautiful/ welcoming personality. My hair has been growing beautifully since I’ve started coming. They don’t do hair just for the money but it’s their passion. Growing hands making hair healthy again. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’ve been going to this salon since I was in the 9th grade (2009) and ONLY allowed the owner Yvelesse to do my hair until she started passing me off to others who did HORRIBLE work on 4C hair. I don’t believe the other people who work for her are even licensed to do hair! It’s like she just knows them or are friends of a friend who helps with clients because they have 0 knowledge on how to properly treat 4C hair. It’s a new young heavy set brown skinned girl with short Afro like hair who is usually at the hair bowl. She does not know how to even properly wash hair! I have encountered her twice and had to ask her both times to please rewash my hair because I could still smell my hair dirty and when I scratched my sculp dirt was in my nails! I was so aggravated that it took so long and was getting uncomfortable being in the wash bowl that long because she wasn’t thorough with the cleaning of my scalp. An older lady had to come take over after i complained and she washed it cleaned. Also, They use way too much heat on every strain of hair from the blow dryer to using flat irons repeatedly pressing small sections of hair 15 times, you can smell your hair burning over the products just for your roots to still be course at the end. Even the lady with the long blonde curly hair who works close to Yvelisse, (the one at the 2nd chair to the right when you walk in) is not as good at all, I’ve been disappointed many times with her styling even after she tried to fix it. It’s just wasn’t the way I wanted it which was just loose curls for body. It was a mess! This salon has fried and damaged my hair so BAD! :( I had full thick hair with length but thanks to their negligence it has thinned so badly I had to cut my hair off to restart a healthy hair journey. Yvelisse the owner is the only person who knows what she’s doing when it comes to hair in general, but I wouldn’t trust any of her staff to style your hair if you want to keep it healthy and to your style liking. We as women/MOMS work to hard to just waste our money on bad service and not get what we pay for. The salon is nice & clean BUT It’s not worth what is charged to 4C customers. You have to have a certain hair texture that is easier for her staff to work with to get decent results so I will NEVER RETURN AGAIN!!!

I’ve had been going ever so often for over 10 years. Yvelisse done my hair the first 2 times and passed me along afterwards. I thought she was being professional and allowing other girls to make money so I didn’t complain but the last 2 times Ive been have been bad experiences. The last time I visited I literally sat with a wet head for over 30 mins waiting on someone to do my hair but when they were done they chose girls washed AFTER me with short hair. All the while, yvellise is walking around looking. I finally paid for just a wash ($30) and left without tipping and went home to blow dry my hair. They usually charge me $100 because my hair is long and thick and I’m ok with that but I’ve never sit with wet hair and allow others to skip me and I know I pay more for my hair AND TIP. I’ll never return.

Black people, if you want to keep your natural hair and keep it healthy, don't go to this salon. They don't know our hair. They can't consult on our hair. They don't know how to trim hair, never going on the inside of the hair to trim, only just the bottom. They use color products that have keratin in it and don't tell you!!!! I've been natural for over 10 years. I got color, and the lady that can't speak English at all put that product in my hair without asking or telling me. She always seem to need someone to translate for her. Never used her before. Now I will say most all are very friendly, they do an excellent job at washing the hair very well and they are efficient with time. But they do not know how to treat our hair, nor do they ask questions or consult you on your hair. Not very skilled. They just fry your hair to death! My hair was so very healthy until this last visit. I am so hurt and disappointed. I had to cut off ALOT of my hair. After my appointment, the following week washing my hair was when I noticed it was semi staight. It thin my hair out very quickly. Yes, I really like this salon. But the language barrier, and lack of knowledge of black hair and the blanton disregard of even a consult, and purposely slipping keratin in your hair. I will say the owner will consult, not the others. The owner has the skill and experience, i think. This Salon seems to be all about getting you in and out, which is fine but the problem with that is they dont talk to the client thoroughly about expectations about our hair and nor give what you request. She, the Colorist, ruined my hair. She represents the salon, which is why I say the Salon. A lesson learned. I will never go back there. I advise you to exercise extreme caution. KNOW YOUR STYLIST, KNOW YOUR COLORIST... they dont try to know you. They just dig in. In my opinion, they do not care about our hair, nor do they know how to treat our hair, NOR do the consult on our hair. Yes, this it the first time I've had this problem with them. Yes, I've been going for about 5 years, and they did an excellent job. I always ask for a specific person to do hair. This time, she wasn't there; I got HER! I had another friend that had this same issue, them putting keratin treatment in the hair and NOT or ASKING or TELLING YOU, which i would've said heck No!! Such blanton dissrespect! I hate this because i really did like them a lot. I'm so disappointed.. So very hurt that now the condition of my hair is ruined. One person can ruin a business. NO LINGER TRUST THEM! If one does it, others may too!! The trust is lost... obviously they operate on don't ask don't tell!!!

I took my 8 year old here Sat at the last minute due to her ends looking horrible and dry after she had a blowout the previous day. I needed the ends cut and her hair curled. They were apprehensive at 1st to touch her hair without it being washed by them 1st but they did it and when I tell you her hair came out so beautifully for her 9th bday she can't keep her hands our of it😁 and I'm pleased. The lady's name was Marylin, and she was patient and gentle with her. I will be back .

Ive been to yvelisse since I was a kid and they have always taken care of my hair yvelisse is like an aunt to me and any time I want to try something new with my hair she is alway so positive and makes me look and feel the best anyone who says that yvelisse puts relaxer in there hair are lying I have gone here since I was in preschool and never once have they ever put anything in my hair and if you’re gonna complain that the staff doesn’t speak English this is a Dominican hair Salon Not an American hair salon don’t be a bigot And even if they can’t speak English, they still know how to do hair same as any they had to do the same training as every other stylist, and I would argue they would have to work even harder if you like natural hair, then this place isn’t for you, but if you want your hair to be straight and beautiful, this is the place if you want to try something new this is the place and anybody who says that this place doesn’t know what they’re doing you didn’t communicate right because long as I have been here I have never had a problem once in my life and if you say the staff was rude, you were rude to them first They give you the same energy that you give to them. These women work their butts off every day, and if you won’t give them the respect they deserve then you don’t deserve Respect either I love this salon, and I intend to keep coming here for many more years

Look if you want you hair done right. Don't pass them up. All the stylist are great. Rosa(no longer there) and Clara(gone)but I recommend any. My hair is always bouncy and flowing with curls..
