An odd and uncomfortable experience. After coming on the insistence of a friend, Yvey dismissed our initial thoughts stating that he was a “sculptor” and showed us some reference photos instead. The haircut turned out like neither, choppy and uneven. I think he may have sensed I wasn’t enthusiastic about the work, insisting it was the best for my “head and face shape” and I needed to “grow it out”. Not the worst haircut I’ve ever received, but certainly not worth the hype or price tag.

I’ve been seeing Yvey for my haircuts for over 8 years now. He’s the best! Always gives my hair style and shape with good movement and it’s easy to maintain.

This hair salon has a wonderful and welcoming vibe, and Astrid is an incredible hairstylist. She’s super kind and does special, unique, and high quality color work. I’ve gone here multiple times as well as to check out some art shows they’ve put on. The space has beautiful windows & views of both the weather and the courtyard—the windows soak the weather in quite well. I’ll never forget how nice it felt in there. I left my appointment with Astrid feeling gorgeous. Astrid is the girl to see for any coloring needs—especially if you’re concerned about the health of your hair after coloring / bleaching! She’s a hard worker who’s clearly devoted to her work—as well as being tuned into your concerns about your hair. Friendly and welcoming! Yvey himself also threw in a bang trim for me, very thankful to him 🙏🏻

Yvey gave me the best haircut I've ever had. I hadn't had a haircut in over 2 years because my hair had been thinning, and I was nervous to get it cut. It was long, unmanageable, and in desperate need of a trim. Yvey listened to my concerns, asked me what I wanted, and worked magic on my hair. He cut it in a way that gave me volume, body, and fullness that I never thought possible. He also gave me advice on how to care for my hair, and I left feeling more confident. I will definitely be going back for future haircuts.

Yvey gives truly thoughtful and well designed cuts. He took the time to feel the textures of my hair and take in the natural shape. I have a lot of hair (thick) and the cut was efficient time-wise without losing any of the quality. If you have wavy/curly hair… this is your new favorite place.

Just incredible! Yvey is incredibly thoughtful and knows how to make his customers feel heard. Not only did I walk out with the best haircut of my life, I also left with super useful style advice to keep it looking great in between cuts. Yvey is an artist and when you’ll talk to him for even a minute, you’ll know it in an instant. I am a brunette and long hair and a lot of it too. Struggled to get a stylist who can deal with variety of hair, texture and personalities and he was at its most peace. Yvey is a listener so come and unbare your soul and you’ll see the magic happen. I asked for face framing and I got it. He knows I dance so he articulated layers and it creates a personality, a movement. I am going to him for years to come in Seattle. He is warm and super considerate! To all my seattlite folks - I highly recommend him.

WOWOWOW!!! Yvey goes above and beyond. Not only is he kind and easy to talk to, but he makes magic with hair! The salon is set back in a cool and quiet location. It has nice big windows and outdoor space with a fire pit outside. I love how people stop by to see Yvey too… he’s obviously well liked and respected! Thank you so much, Yvey!! I will be back!!

Yvey is a mastermind - it is absolutely refreshing for a haircut to be tailored to my individual face shape and hair texture rather than try to fit into whatever the current trend is. I was so impressed that Yvey could create so much volume and shape with just a haircut!

“I don’t do this for the transaction. I do it because I love it.” My stylist said this to me as I got the best haircut I’ve ever had. I haven’t cut my hair in years because of a bad experience at another salon that left much to be desired. Because it had been so long, I had a ton of damage and split ends. I really wanted to preserve my length and my stylist went to great lengths to help me do so. I got all the damage removed but still have my long hair. I gave him free reign to do whatever else and the layers and framing he did makes me feel SO beautiful. For $125 I feel like I got my money’s worth many times over. They also got me in super quick- I called and they had an appointment the next day. Highly recommend.

I have finally found my go-to salon! I came to Yvey with long, frizzy, drab hair and left with the layered cut and luscious blowout of my dreams. Yvey revived my natural curls and gave me the layers that I asked for without sacrificing much of my length. He took the time to listen to what I was looking for and gave me a full walk-through of what he was going to do and why before starting. His expertise and skill is unquestionable and I will definitely be back!

Yesterday I went in to get my afro trimmed , have curly bangs and get it shaped. Instead I got hair that was cut wayyy shorter than expected. I came in with hair that was past my chest and now after my cut , my hair is a little past shoulder length(thats almost 6 inches of hair cut) . asking for layers does not equate to cutting half of my hair off. I was so devasted I just sat in the chair shocked and quiet after yevy washed it trying not to tear up. I also told him about how much my hair shrinks just so he knows not to cut too much but he still cut off half of my hair. Yevy also didnt fully wash my hair and I left the salon with a dirty scalp that I had to rewash at home. I paid 150$ for dirty hair, and for me to walk out the door with frizzy short hair I never asked for. Ive been crying about this since last night and am really disappointed. I feel like I cant wear my hair curly anymore. I tried to blow dry it only to see how much my ends have tangled due to an uneven cut.

Date of service: 12/21/2023 Hair colorist: Astrid Service booked: Partial Highlights (light and low lights) and root touch-up. Problem was I received mostly low-lights than high lights Iand the salon does not do adjustments/correction as is standard with reputable salons within the first 2 weeks (or refund but that depends on salon). Resolution: Salon does not redo any services by the colorist Astrid. She blames the customer and is not polite about it. I asked initially equal low and high lights. Received low lights mostly. Coloriist said I would be charged again. A reputable salon would do some correction within first 2 weeks until customer is happy. I will have to spend $300 additional to correct it.

I had a really phenomenal experience with Jeremy today! I felt validated and heard with some of the issues I was having with my hair, and I was given some great advice on how to approach styling for the future! The service was a little on the pricier side(pretty standard for Seattle honestly), however alongside the consultation I felt my experience was worth every penny. I'm happy with my haircut and to have found the studio, and I'm quite excited to return when I'm ready for a cut in the future!

I relocated to Seattle 6 months ago. Hardest part was finding my “go-to team” of personalized services. I had a fanatic barber back in Chicago who was the most detail oriented barber I knew. It took me 5 months but I found my man here in Seattle at Yvey - Jermey. I found him through a mutual client we share (I’m an independent massage therapist) whose cut and style was exactly what I was accustomed to in Chicago and very much needed here in Seattle. Jermey is detail oriented and methodical and communicative and super professional and friendly. These are rare combo’s to come by and I am grateful to have landed with Jermey. I’m a converted prospect and now a loyal client.

I went to Jeremy for almost 5 years and only recently stopped going to him because I moved out of state. His attention to detail, passion, and skills, are unparalleled. If you want a barber who treats what they do as a craft, and not just a job, Jeremy is your guy. I can’t recommend him enough!
