I came to Zazu Salon with damaged, straw-like blonde hair and June has completely revived my hair. I have naturally very dark roots, and she is a savant at blending very bright blonde with my roots so that it looks natural between appointments. It is so hard to find a stylist who can deliver great blonde color while ensuring that your hair stays healthy, and June has gone above and beyond what I had hoped for.

Daniel is the best! I’ve been coming to him since I moved to Chicago 2 years ago and I’ve never been disappointed. Have had multiple friends come to him as well after seeing what an amazing job he does!

Martha has been doing my blonde highlights for two years now and I am obsessed every time! Any blondes should be booking with Martha at Zazu year round. My favorite part about the way Martha does her blonde compared to other stylist I used to go to is that it always grows out natural with no harsh roots. For someone who is naturally darker this is a game changer. 10/10 recommendation Martha and Zazu Gold Coast!

When I moved to Chicago, I tried several salons before finding Zazu. The people at Zazu at top notch! Everyone is happy, helpful and wants to make you look fabulous. I’ve seen Dani for the past few years. There is no one who does color better. Truly a master. I have fine Swedish hair and he keeps it looking fresh, fun, and full - no small feat! For both men and women cut and color, I highly recommend Dani and Zazu ✨

Daniel is a treasure. I have trusted no one else with my hair for the last 7 years. He listens to what you want and will have a knowledgeable opinion based on the latest trends and what will work for your hair/face. Countless times I’ve walked out thinking this was the best haircut I’ve ever gotten. Even as my hair has started to thin over the last few years Dani still makes it look great. He is also really friendly and a cool, easy person to shoot the sh*t with. My shrink, friend, fashion advisor, and of course, stylist- Dani is the full package.

I am extremely particular about who I allow to handle my blond full highlights, and searched for a while to find the perfect hairdresser in the city/suburbs. I finally found Martha at Zazu- she puts on an absolute masterclass in her craft. Not only am I so happy with the results after each session, but I feel like she truly listens to me when I am explaining what I want. Added bonus: Martha is an incredible human being who makes you feel just a little bit lighter walking out of your appointment. Thank you, Martha!!

I’ve been going to see Martha for years. If you are a blonde, there is no one better in the city. She is the BEST! Martha nails the color every single time and takes her time with each client. I’ve never left in a bad mood. My hair is bright blonde, yet healthy and soft which can often be difficult to achieve. To all my blondes - go see Martha!! You won’t regret it!

Martha is a freakin’ magician! 5 years ago, she saved my hair after years of damage from my ex-stylist and has continued to wow me with every visit. I’m a natural brunette who likes tricking people into thinking I’m a natural blonde… not an easy feat, but Martha gets it done! I can confidently say my hair has never been healthier, stronger, or softer than it is now. Zazu is always kept so clean and everyone is so nice there, I continue to look forward to my next visit. Absolutely love Daniel!! He made my platinum pixie dream hair come true 😍😍 I’ve been going to him for years now and I love going every visit. I normally used to dread getting my hair done because it takes so long but with him I get excited! He’s so fun to be around and always cracks me up and the best part is always ending with amazing hair. Doesn’t get better than a good time & great hair. I can’t recommend Daniel enough 🙌

Daniel absolutely saved my hair a few years back after a horrendous haircut at another salon. Ever since then, I do not let anyone else cut my hair! The first time I came to Zazu salon was 3 years ago when I meet my stylist Danny. It only took a few minutes for me to know that he was THE ONE. He is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and very meticulous about the work that he does. I am very particular about my hair and for three years he has NEVER disappointed. He is also very honest, patient, and kind which I appreciate. Book him for your next appointment !

Had much higher expectations for the price. My stylist was nice, but this is probably the least skillful or well-done balayage I’ve had. Tone wasn’t right to start and has only gotten worse in the 2 months since. Usually, I only get my hair done once per year… but I already need to go somewhere else to get it redone.

Suzette went above and beyond during my appointment, after having a baby I needed my hair done bad! It feels so smooth, silky and soft! I am seriously obsessed. I recommend her all the way she listened to what I wanted and delivered. Super thankful to have found my new hair girl. 🤍

Very poor experience and I do not recommend. I booked a haircut and all over color using class pass credits. I came in, told the girl what I wanted, and she started doing my hair. As she’s finishing up the color, she tells me “sorry, but I forgot to tell you it’s going to be a $65 up charge because you got an all over color” ???? The class pass deal clearly states I can get an all over color, however the stylist claimed an “all over color” is a “touch up.” I was shocked by this sudden up charge and asked to speak to the manager multiple times. The manager never once came over to speak with me, and instead kept sending the junior stylist to apologize and say “there’s nothing they can do other than offer me a complimentary gloss.” I was like what am I going to do with that, I’d rather you just fix the issue at hand and not give me anything complimentary? Stylist went back to manager, manager (still) never came over or apologized. The whole experience was incredibly off putting. At the end, they never showed me my receipt and when I asked for a copy, their printer was conveniently out of paper so I made them email it to me. The environment was extremely hostile so I checked the receipt when I got home and realized I was overcharged for just about everything. The only thing I have to say about this salon is that it feels very scammy. I absolutely would not recommend coming here to get your hair done.

Zazu Chicago is such a beautiful location in the heart of the Gold Coast! The remodel is stunning! Amazing and talented technicians with a great desk staff! Highly recommend!

I have been coming to Zazu for a few years but the quality has truly gone downhill. I used to see Ariadne religiously and would never have a bad thing to say about her! However today I went for a blowout and couldn’t have been more disappointed. It was $42 for my hair to truly look far worse than when I do it at home. The products they use are cheap, smell genuinely terrible, and the stylist she asked me, “What finishing products do you want to finish?” God. Save your money! Do your own blowout at home for sure! Absolutely not worth it. I’d stand outside and warn people off if I could - maybe it was just stylist specific but man, oh man, was that a terrible decision.

I’ve been to many Zazu locations and they never disappoint. The front desk staff is always so inviting and every stylist I’ve seen has always been spot on with my requests. You can tell that it’s run well & that they take training seriously!

Zazu Chicago has always been a beautiful location, but it’s even more stunning after the new renovations! The staff always makes you feel welcome and makes sure you feel taken care of. Super happy with all of the positive changes, and can’t wait to be back!
