My experience at zero was fabulous! Ericka is a highly skilled and intuitive hair stylist. She listened carefully to me, asked lots of great questions and took a lot of time to teach me how to style my new cut. I have been so pleased with how well my new hair cut and style makes me feel more like my self! Since my appointment I have been able to consistently style my own hair to exactly the look I was hoping for. Zero salon is a beautiful, calming minimalistic space where I felt seen, heard and cared for. The experience is spacious and luxurious and the style/ cut is worth the investment. I’m so glad to have found this amazing salon!

Allegra is simply amazing. She cut/styled my super thick/long hair using a straight blade razor and gave me the bangs and framing pieces of my dreams! She really took her time and is a master of her craft. She has gained a new client in me! I will be returning to Allegra for my future hair needs in Seattle :)

Ericka and all things zero salon are nothing short of amazing! I've never had anyone really listen and take the time to give me such a great haircut and style. Ericka knows her stuff, cares about people and the environment, and provides so much more than just a haircut. I also greatly appreciate the no-chemicals approach to the salon. As someone who went gray in her 30s, I think enabling and empowering women to embrace leaving dye and harsh chemicals behind is a much-needed societal disruptor! Hats off to Ericka and zero!

Nothing but wonderful things to say about Allegra and the team at Zero. I'm gonna deep dive, because I'm the type of salon goer that really likes to know what I'm getting myself into as a new client! First, I thought the website was incredibly clear and all information was accessible and easy to understand as a new client. Booking was also easy and straightforward. Leading up to the appointment I received instructions and reminders that made me feel super prepared day of. The salon space was welcoming, beautiful, simple, clean, peaceful, and comfortable. The new client appointment itself was ah-may-zing. Allegra and I did a deep dive on my hair, it's attributes, scalp health, current care practices and routine. Then we went over my inspo photos, the goals I had for the finished style, and what was realistic for my hair texture. The conversation was easy and open and I felt super excited about what we planned! The razor cutting experience was like watching a sculptor work. SO COOL. The end result was exactly what I wanted, turning out even better than I imagined. The appointment ended by Allegra walking me through the hair products and styling techniques she used, all of which felt very doable for me to replicate when I did my hair at home (which has proven to be true!). I received follow up communications included Allegra's recommendations for hair care and styling products with a link to purchase online - something I appreciate being able to access outside of the salon. 10/10 would recommend booking with the team at Zero. They rock.

Allegra has cut my hair twice now and each time I have been blown away. She has an incredible attention to detail which combined with her creativity, finesse and superb razor cutting skills resulted in the most unique, custom pixie tailored to my hair texture & density, multiple cowlicks, as well as my lifestyle and how I like to manage my hair. Not only that, but she is such a joy to be around!

DO it Gals. Go to Zero and see Allegra. To be totally honest I wouldn't normally spend top dollar on hairstyling, but I have been in hair hell for about a year now. I just couldn't find someone to help me figure out what I wanted (I am in significant personal and spiritual life changes). AND then to get a beautiful cut and style into exactly what I wanted? My goodness. What a gem Allegra is and the shop itself is full of easy, beautiful creative energy. My experience was thoroughly enjoyable. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. AND my cut and style is so good it's holding longer than I expected...so money saved there. And one more thing - my natural hair color (which isn't hugely flattering to me) is 100% celebrated at this shop. I love it.

I loved my experience with Allegra at zero. It was the most personal, caring, and fun haircut I’ve had, ever basically. It was my first time having a razor cut and it is so easy to style. It’s growing out beautifully as well. It works both with and without blow drying, super versatile. You don’t need to think twice about booking with Allegra. She is great!

My experience with Allegra might be one of, if not the best hair salon experiences I have ever had. Her and Ericka both, I probably couldn’t decide, seriously this salon is something else. Allegra is warm and professional. Her demeanor is calm, and competent. This was my first time ever meeting and working with her, and I never once doubted that I was in excellent hands. Her knowledge and dedication to her craft emanates off her not only in the way she would explain her process and answer questions thoughtfully and seamlessly, but in the way she moved around my hair and the salon with a grounded, quiet confidence. Where I have at times in other salons felt nervous to be transparent about my hair routine or products I use due to budget or whatever the case, I knew I was in a judgement free zone. Our consultation was genuine, met me where I was at, and I felt heard. Not just during the consultation, but throughout, and by the finished result. Needless to say, I will gladly drive from Portland to Seattle to see Allegra again in the future. I have been growing my hair out from a shaved head and this change is big to me. I would have been nervous to get any cut with someone new let alone a bold one like this, I trusted her so much I let her take the full lead, and I am SO glad that I did. I think some people in seek of a haircut are looking for a real change within themselves. How we present ourselves and feel about ourselves is part of identity work- a lifelong evolving process. Allegra validates this sentiment for me and inspires my sense of creativity and style. I’ve had about five haircuts from Allegra and every time I leave her chair I feel confident and beautiful. It’s amazing to me how every time I show an inspiration photo she brings it to life. Allegra really takes the time to understand not only my desired cut/style but how it will work for me personally. Before 2014, I was in a perpetual search for the hair stylist who had the skills to cut Asian hair that was thin and wispy. When I met Ericka ten years ago, my search was over. Over the years, not only has she given me perfect haircuts that look great as they grow out but she also teaches me so much about my own hair. Who knew I had a double cowlick? Ericka taught me how to brush and blow-dry to cover my gaping cowlick. And what's to love about white hair? I would spend hours literally trimming every strand down to the nubbin. Ericka taught me to embrace my white hair with so much love and grace. Her haircuts highlight my greys in such a way they frame my face. My gen z daughter says her friends go to great lengths to dye their hair just so, but I'm just born like that! I visited Allegra at zero for the first time about a week and a half ago. I went in for a new client haircut and the service I received was above and beyond anything I could have expected. Allegra is warm, incredibly kind and has clearly mastered her craft from all angles. I often book services when I need a little pick me up and that’s exactly what I got - Allegra made me feel so comfortable, so cared for. But - while having a great salon experience really is a wonderful mood booster my true test is always how my hair styles after washes and after a handful this week I can confidently say I love my cut. The icing on the cake was great products, I even went home with a few and I NEVER do that. Exceptional experience and looking forward to many more visits in my future. Thank you, Allegra and zero!

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Ericka at zero. The space is beautifully appointed without being fussy, and Ericka made every minute of my initial 2 hour (don’t be intimidated, it’s worth it!) appointment luxurious and relaxing from beginning to end. Ericka is incredibly knowledgeable about hair and scalp health and was amazing at helping me understand my hair and what processes and products are best to support it (without trying to product push on me). Ericka is, by far, the most wonderful hairstylist I have ever been to. She has cut my hair for at least 15 years. I would follow her to a different state just to have her cut my hair. And not to brag, but I get compliments all the time on my hair. Not only is she technically insanely skilled, spending time with her is like therapy and retreat. I've truly never had a better hair experience. As a single mom who makes just above minimum wage and lives in Everett, the $300 price tag and the trip out to Seattle is - honest to god - worth every single penny. I found Allegra through Instagram and was drawn to her profile of thoughtful and curated cuts. I've always experienced extreme anxiety around normal salon environments. They were either clique-y or crowded. But Allegra made me feel welcome even before my appointment, by providing a space for me to send my inspirations and details; she also sent informative communications as to directions, operations, etc, so I not only understood where to go, but felt like my desires for the cut was honestly heard. I arrived early, and Allegra adjusted her schedule to allow for additional time before my appointment to discuss my hair history, previous salon experiences, and my outlook for the session. Her focus felt intentional and authentic - she asked a lot of questions, which I LOVED! I expressed concerns I had with previous salons and stylists. She took time to explain what she would be using on my hair and why, as well as updating me on my scalp and hair throughout the ENTIRE experience (something I had specifically requested). Even though she mentioned products she would be using on my hair, and it came up naturally that the products were available should I want them, I never felt like she was selling me anything. I came in with a very specific vision of what I wanted when I walked out and Allegra knocked it out of the park. Keep in mind I showed her about 3 reference photos. :) I'd also like to note that my time in the chair was perfection. Relaxing, informative, respectful. The conversation flowed naturally, and I left with a sense of pride and beauty that I haven't felt in a while. Not to mention the salon is eco conscious, utilizes clean products, and has gratuity free pricing (an absolute first for me!!) which just solidified my new hair home. This is a MUST to add into your budget and make a staple in your self-care routine. I will be doing so. <3 It takes a lot to get this introverted mama out of the house and I am SO glad I found you. :) From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Love love love this salon and especially love Ericka. So much so that instead of finding a stylist close to me (I live in New Jersey), I wait until I’m home visiting family in Seattle to get my haircut by her. After my recent haircut my scalp felt phenomenal for days and I felt totally relaxed (which I attribute to the terrific scalp massage). AND my hair looked incredible. Almost two months later my hair still looks incredible. When Ericka says “melty layers” she means it. Cannot wait for my next cut!

When I told my prior hairdresser of many years that I had decided to stop dyeing my hair, she pulled my hair back from my face to show off the gray roots and said “It will make you look so old.” That’s when I realized I needed a new hair stylist! I followed a friend’s recommendation to Ericka. Ericka encouraged me to go natural. Not only did I feel attractive during the process, but I received many unsolicited compliments from others. My hair and scalp are nourished by the spa quality treatment they receive during our appointments. I love that she mentors other stylists and has created a salon experience that is unique and welcoming. Free street parking is nice too!
