Walked in to look at the product. The owner was rude, unhelpful and dismissive. The salon did not look clean. He was purposefully trying to embarrass potential customers for trying to determine if we wanted a product. There are many nicer, friendlier and cleaner salons around Chicago, don't go here!! You may be belittled for a petty reason. 🤣

I love this salon. Al does a wonderful job. I’m always getting compliments on how good my hair looks. Edit: I used to love this salon. I made an appointment to have my bangs touched up, a service they have always offered for free since I get my hair cut there. Upon walking in I was told by Al he didn’t have time for me. His wife had to come out and explain I had called and made an appointment. I should have left. He proceeded to talk to another client about how annoying it was to do work where he didn’t make a lot of money then bragged about buying luxury cars for all his children, which they then totaled. He punished them by buying them more cars? He was rude while cutting my bangs and then proceeded to charge me $15 telling me it would have been free if I get my hair cut there…which I have multiple times. Very rude and bad service. I don’t care how good you are at what you do, I don’t deserve to be treated like human garbage and charged for it because you’re having a bad day. Other reviews make sense now and I won’t be back.

Al is a miracle worker! This is the best salon experience I’ve ever had. Not only are Al and Yolla are incredibly kind and attentive, they are hair geniuses. I walked out looking better than I knew was possible. I will be a client for life!!

Fantastic salon and superb professionals! They know what they are doing, from the haircut to styling to color. They also teach you how to blow dry your hair, what products are good vs. not good for YOUR TYPE of hair. Very personalized approach. My only regret is that I don’t live close enough to Chicago to visit them more often. However, I plan my trips around this salon so I use an opportunity to pamper myself in their services. All their staff is super friendly, making you feel at home, while also holding high professional standards and boundaries. I love Zeza salon! I had a bit of time before my conference and needed a haircut. As it happened, it was pouuuuring so I stood there completely drenched. They gave me a long spa robe, slippers and tea of my choice and a repair cut for my long hair, including advice on which brush to use, how to dry it etc. While I got my hair cut they put all of my clothes in the dryer for me to put on nice and warm when I was done! The place might not look fancy but they know what they're doing. I took a star off since I found the price a bit high, however all in all very happy.

I have been going to Zeza Hair and Salon for over two years now. I have worked both with Al and Tarik, co-owners, and Rena, salon specialist. I have always been treated with respect, received high quality care and often receive compliments on my haircut immediately upon leaving the salon. The salon is bright, well maintained, and all staff are professional, warm and welcoming. They work around my hectic schedule and are always willing to find a mutual time that works. I would highly recommend their services.

I have been going to Zeza for all my hair care needs, from haircuts, highlights and Brazilian blowouts since 2008. I found Tarik when a beautiful work colleague of mine with a fabulous haircut, shared that Tarik was the one who cuts and styles her hair. Since then, I've become accustomed to getting compliments on my hair, not just from friends, but from other hair stylists and even random strangers! I've referred many friends, guys and gals, to Tarik and Al at Zeza. I moved from Chicago to L.A., summer 2012. And I have tried a number of highly recommended hairstylists in L.A. and Denver, since then. I've yet to find one hairstylist that holds a candle, (or shears) to/like Tarik! So, I make it a point to fly back to visit and see Tarik, quarterly! Al has also done my blowouts and it's evident that the apple, (Tarik) doesn't fall far from the tree (Al, his dad)! Zeza is a family-owned hair salon and spa, just off the Magnificent Mile, in the heart of Chicago. They are warm, professional, knowledgeable and easily the most talented in hair care and style in the Windy City. Yola, Al Tarik, and Rena make me feel like I'm a part of the family and I will continue to fly into Chicago for my hair cuts and special hair care needs!

Visit this place last year, service offer as far as wash and blow out was horrible. The white skinny guy do not know how to do mixed hair and he did a terrible job. If you don't know how to do different types of hair you shouldn't be a hair stylist. Here today I went in again hoping someone else would do my hair and hoping he no longer works there and there he is again and they want to charge $65.00 for wash and blow out. Where I tell them I don't want him cause he did a horrible job on my hair last time. So he said if I wasn't happy with the job last time I should go somewhere else. Which I am gladly will. NO PERSON IN THERE RIGHT MIND WILL SPEND $65.00 FOR A WASH AND BLOW OUT. NOT EVEN THE TOP SPA'S IN NYC CHARGE THAT FOR SOME NO HAIR STYLIST TO DO A JACKED UP JOB. 😘

My sister and I both went here and everybody was SO nice, we were both walk-ins and we immediately got in. They knew exactly what we wanted More than we even knew what we wanted. We are both obsessed. I don’t live in Chicago (Or even nearby) but I am definitely coming back whenever I need my hair touched up. They were very informative and never snotty. LOVE

If you want to be treated with highest-end products, friendly and professional atmosphere, go to Zeza. Also, I have never had cleaner hair after color! Less than basic service. I don't wont to give any stars, but I had to, to move on....I visit Zeza Hair Salon & Spa because it was right next door to the hotel we were staying. I went in for a basic polish change to my toes and nails. The nail tech appeared confused and unprepared. She was wondering if she should use toe separators (Duuuu)...yes, so the polish wont rub. The nail tech then criticized my previously buffed toes, which she did not buff or sanitize, using her bare hands. She stated "I don't do that". I opt to just allow her to complete the toe polish against my better judgement. I paid $20 dollars for the JUST POLISH and some flip flops. They had no spa slippers (?!?!) in a spa. The cake taker was when I reviewed my banking account after the weekend and found that Zeza had taken $120 for my JUST TOE NAIL POLISH change instead of $20, the amount I approved. I contacted them and they expected me to give them my account number AGAIN over the phone. Yeah Right!...My advise is, go around the corner...cheaper and more experience.

Lovely, clean, spacious, and comfortable place with great and knowledgeable people with good taste and a sense of aesthetic. I go there periodically for a perm and the master does a great job every time. So happy I found this spot.

Never in my life have I have felt so negatively to a salon or given one a bad review! The one star is for the result of my visit, which, yes is the most important part. The work they did was mediocre at best even though the price more than was quoted! Also, the salon was clean. So these elements do factor a lot! BUT! They were so cold and unfriendly and unwelcoming to me and the entire time I was there, I felt so uncomfortable! They spoke in their language a lot and had an air of arrogance! I could not wait to leave and at one point, really did not care how my hair came out! I just wanted to get out! And when my hair was washed out, they had the washer comb my hair and neither father or son acknowledged me, asked what I thought or even said goodbye or thanks for my business. Will not go back! So take this review in terms of what is important to you! Amendment: The owner responded failing to note that I did not complain essentially about the end result but rather the unfriendliness and unwelcoming manner of the salon.

I have been going to Zeza for almost 20 years!!! They are like family to me, as they are always there to make me look fabulous and truly care about their customers!!!! I would recommend Zeza salon to anyone looking for quality service at very reasonable prices!! Love Al, Tarik, & Yola as the most professional and warm talent in the business!!

I'm here from out of town for a major event. I (totally knowing better) had my hair cut at home before I left and HATED it. In desperation, I tried to find a place in Chicago to fix it before my event. Zeza managed fit me in the same day I called and I LOVE my new cut. My only regret is that I can't fly to Chicago every time I need a hair cut.

Old fashioned salon which was very pricey. I felt the underneath of my hair wasn't even dry on leaving the salon! Would not recommended it.
